Parish Mission Statement:

Holy Protection is an Autocephalous Orthodox community, dedicated to the practice of Orthodox faith; together we are called to realize our spirituality by living Christ's teachings. We encounter the loving and forgiving presence of Jesus in one another and in our celebration of the sacraments. Together we endeavor to comfort and give hope to all through loving acts of kindness

More Information on our Parish

Holy Protection is a parish of the IOC, while one among many Orthodox Churches, in an Orthodox community that practices Orthodoxy rooted in the beliefs and worship of the Orthodox Catholic tradition. We are Western Rite, celebrating the Gregorian Rite, which means we celebrate the Mass (Divine Liturgy) in a more Catholic like fashion. Bishops who can trace their lines back to the Apostles have ordained the clergy of Holy Protection International Orthodox Church. This means our people celebrate the sacraments considered valid. In the Orthodox Churches priests may marry before ordination and raise a family. We are concerned about the tragedy of divorce, but in light of the Gospels, we do not see the exclusion of remarried people from the sacraments as consistent with the spirit of Christ's ministry. In our Church divorced people can celebrate their wedding before a priest. Couples in our parish are taught that having children is an important purpose of marriage, and that they must be responsible in the care of their families according to their ability to provide for them. We do not condemn the use of contraception. Everyone is welcome at Holy Protection International Orthodox Church with the Love of God. God does NOT discriminate, we don't discriminate. We see baptism as the sacrament of initiation that makes all of the other sacraments available to us. Holy Protection Church does NOT practice open communion, Holy Communion as well as Reconciliation and the Sacrament of the Sick (Last Rites) is for those have been baptized in the form of the Holy Trinity and are Orthodox Catholics and TRULY believe that Christ is present in the sacrament of Holy Communion. In the spirit of our tradition and as taught by the Orthodox faith, we see the Pope of the Roman Catholic Church equal to that of any Bishop. We have our own Hierarchy in the International Orthodox Church that we are subject to. The community of Holy Protection Church has established its own specific ministries that give parishioners opportunities to develop and exercise their own Orthodox spirit through community works of charity and service. Call Holy Protection Church and see how this Orthodox Community can enrich your life. We are: TRADITIONAL, SACRAMENTAL, & LITURGICAL
