To the pulpit committee and whom it May Concern: I was born June 14, 1948, in Salt Lake City, Utah to the late Elder Millard C. Thomas and Mother Janie B. Y. Thomas, who was the state Supervisor of the Church of God in Christ. I attended Grant Elementary School, Horace Man Jr. High, West High School, University of Utah in Salt Lake City, and the University of Southern Colorado. Most recently I have completed two years of college at Pueblo Community College receiving two Associate of Arts and Sciences Degrees one Welding and the other in Machining Technology. I am a Past Master of Masonry F. & A.M. Ph.H.A., and presently serving the Colorado jurisdiction as Right Worshipful Grand Chaplain. I have worked as a Race Relations Consultant of the school District #25 in Pocatello Idaho, a Customer Service Representative at the Citifinancial (Commercial Credit Industrial Bank) of Pueblo, Colorado, and presently employed at Goodrich Aerospace Technology as a Machinist Technician in Pueblo, Colorado. I have been a Gospel preacher for 40 years and presently I am the associate Pastor of the New Hope Baptist Church in Pueblo, Colorado under the Rev. C. S. Sankey Sr. Pastor. I was called, licensed, and ordained as a gospel minister at the early age of twelve years. I was ordained in the Church of God in Christ May 20, 1964. I have since been ordained as a Baptist preacher by the late Rev. William I. Monroe, pastor of the Calvary Baptist Church in Salt Lake City, Utah March 25, 1972. I have been the pastor of the Bethel Baptist Church of Pocatello Idaho; New Hope Baptist Church of Pueblo, Colorado; New Bethany Baptist Church of Pueblo, Colorado, and today the associate pastor of New Hope Baptist Church of Pueblo, Colorado. I am joined with my lovely wife and companion for over 28 years, Kay Carol Thomas, who has a Masters Degree in Social work from the University of Denver. We have four children and eight grandchildren. Our motto is "a family that prays together stays together." My hobbies include Elk hunting, fishing, and I also love good home cooked soul food, and the conversation of good friend and family. Reverend Charlie S.Sankey, Sr. recieved calling in 1972. Licensed in November, 1972. Achieved ordination papers in 1978. Pastor of Ministerial Fellowship. Vice President of the District Congress. Gospel National Recording Artist. Graduated in 1978 from Minor High School in Alabama. Attended Brimingham Baptist College; Lasson Jr. College: and L.K. Williams Ministerial Institue of Dallas, TX. Presently working on BA in music and music and minoring in Psychology at the University of Southern Colorado. Born and raised in Alabama, I spent most of my youth under the guidance of my parents Rev. William J. and Katie B. Sankey. At the age of seven 1967, I recieved my calling to serve as a messenger for the Lord. On November 12, 1972. I was licensed at New Hope Baptist Church, and achieved my Ordination papers on October 29, 1978 at Friendship Baptist Church, Birmingham, Alabama. In 1980, I began my interim at New Hope Baptist Church, Pueblo, CO. On April 11, 1982, I became Pastor of New Hope. Present management and administration of church duties, church finance have in creased by 25%. Chruch deed has been paid off. Oversea trustee board, deacon board, youth dept, and missionary society. Have had four young men receive their calling under my direction: rev. Tony Woodfork, Rev. Bernard Browder, Rev. Willie Banks, and Rev. Eugen Polk. I have proven the ability to deal with the public. Counseling and dealing with people of all age levels and group. Considered to be dependable, creative and conscientious, motivated to do a job well. I am a praying sincere, and a dedicated man of God who follow the instruction of God. The bible is my creed and my doctorine and I lead by example. Building a stronger christian education program to develop a stewardship program and to build a stronger outreach program.
