Good Shepherd Church was organized to provide an alternative to traditional Christians in the Winnemucca, Nevada area. Good Shepherd is founded on the Word of God as found in Scripture. Good Shepherd is a traditional congregation. Good Shepherd affirms the faith as it has been received in matters of the historic male ministry, the sanctity of marriage between man and woman, and the traditional title of God our Father as spoken by Jesus in his teaching and prayer.

The above picture is a reminder that Christianity is not an uninvolved philosophy but a down-to-earth way of life that has been passed on from father to son with the guidance of the Church for 2000 years. Christianity did not evolve from western culture. The primary reason that Western Civilization is this planet's successful culture is Jesus Christ and his Church.
Good Shepherd is:
a Worshipping Church.
In corporate worship the congregation is made up of participants...not spectators. The service of worship is not unlike that mentioned by Luke in the Acts of Apostles. The building: table, vestments and furnishings proclaim the Lord in the beauty of holiness...an offering of our best to God.
Good Shepherd is:
a parish of Spirit and Service.
Members are reminded to be the hands and feet of our Lord on earth. As members of the Body of Christ and must live our life for God through people. Although we expect that we can show simplicity in our Christian walk, we realize that laughter and happiness are gifts from God to be enjoyed as we share our faith. We teach that Christians are IN the world but not OF the world. We are not walled up in a holy cocoon but are here to love and serve God above all and foster the coming of his Kingdom, through prayer, through works, through evangelism, and through the politcal process.
HANGIN' 5 ADVENTURES
Vistors are invited to ride the open range for a few hours or all day ... closing up the day with a genuine cowboy-cooked meal.
Guests can listen to songs, stories and some of the best cowboy poetry around northern Nevada.
Directions to the ranch:
Get off I-80 at the Unionville Exit.
Drive South until you get to the "Reduce Speed Ahead" sign.
Turn Left off the Highway at the "55 MPH" sign - 16500 State Route 400.
As with most working ranches, you must unlatch the big metal gate, drive through. Stop, and close & latch the gate behind you.
There are two such gates prior to reaching the ranch house and site of Good Shepherd Church.
