Come One, Come All to the Annual Variety Show You won't want to miss varietyShow on Sunday, September 14 at 5:00 p.m. It's time to polish your talent and get hold of Master of Ceremonies, in orderto participate in the Variety Show. Please bring a covered dish to share. Table settings will be provided by our Membership Committee. Childcare provided. The Caregivers Support Group Fall meetings will be on Sundays at 5:00 p.m. on: September. 21, October 19, November 16. Fall Festival open to the community We hope your family will join for a safe night of fun and festivities us on Sunday, October 26th at 5:00 p.m. as we enjoy hot dogs, a cake walk, trunk or treat (see next article), costumes, games and special treats...these are the makings of our always fun-filled fall festival. Don't miss this event. "Trunk or Treat"? Children will walk the sidewalks of our parking area going trunk-to- trunk selecting goodies offered by congregational members. Vehicle trunks (or truck beds) are decorated to reflect the season of fall and kid-friendly fun and are judged in several different categories with a grand prize of a cake from our cake-walk. If you wish to participate in this portion of the fall festival, please select a theme that would be welcoming to our entire community and save the scary and spooky stuff for home. For information on any of the following, contact our staff in the church office. Sunday School classes is an on-going orientation class for all guests and newer members. This course runs six weeks and new sessions are offered through out the year. Now in session. The Journey class is involved in on-going Bible study and has just begun class has just begun a study of Matthew which will run through most of October. Sunday, will be the 2nd of the study, so it's not too late to get in on this in-depth study. The New Perspectives class is a group of young, married adults who explore a variety of subjects and will begin a new study on inclusive language/political correctness in the church. This study will begin on August 24, under the leadership of our Youth Minister, James English Life 101 Class is a discussion class which seeks to discern how the Christian faith relates to contemporary issues and concerns. They will begin a new study called "Finding the Way of Life: The Search for Wisdom in the Bible and Contemporary Culture." In this course we will look at a variety of sources in order to discern the wisdom by which we are living now and a wisdom which might offer a better alternative for "finding the way of life." The Good News/Seekers class focuses on biblically based topical studies and is concluding a study of the "History of the Hebrew Nation" during the month of August. A new study will be announced soon. The Agape Class alternates between various studies and will begin a six week study on Spiritual Gifts on Sunday, August 17. Our Minister, Rev Dandison Coker will lead the class. Where do they meet? The Agape Class and the New to classmeet in rooms in the main hall, all others meet in the potable building. All classes welcome participants at any time. Chose a study that interests you and visit a Sunday School class this Sunday! Other study groups at VTECI Open Bible Study: A "Walk through the Bible", led by REV hisbasic Bible study will meet most Sundays at 5:00 p.m. at VTECI Discernment Group: Come join us as we begin a study on Monday, September 8. The Discernment Group meets Monday nights at 7:00 p.m. during the school year for group study and mutual spiritual support. Women's Bible Study: The Wednesday Women's Study Group will begin a "Women of Faith" study, Living Above Stress and Worry, on Wednesday, August 27. The group meets from 9:30-11:30 a.m. each Wednesday. If you're interested in joining the group, please contact the church office to order a copy of the book. Home Bible study groups Coppell Home Study: On summer break Meets at the home of rev at 7:00 p.m., on the first Thursday of each month. Current Study: Leaps of Faith Flower Mound Home Study: Will resume September 23. Meets at the home on fourth Tuesdays, at 7:00 p.m. The group is considering a study of Paul's epistles.
