We are a group of believers that look upon ourselves as just Christians. We are a group of Christians concerned with maintaining New Testament Christianity, in other words, like the first century New Testament Christians. We are disciples of Christ, in its truest meaning.
The Church of Christ can be found throughout the world.. It can be found where Christians follow ONLY the teachings of Christ, free from the traditions and teachings of men. Since all Churches of Christ are independent there is no head quarters or central organization and thus difficult to know how many congregations and members are found in the world.. However based on various listings of local congregations of the Churches of Christ they can be found in over 210 lands around the world..
The Bible is our source of teaching. We have great respect for the Bible, the word of God.. We follow the teachings of Christ and believe God and Christ are displeased when man changes the teachings found in the scriptures.. Therefore, we do not add too or take away teachings from the New Testament.. We speak where the scriptures speak and are silent where the scriptures are silent.. We want to be New Testament Christians and identified with the New Testament Church. Therefore, the congregations teaching, practice, worship, organization and work is in harmony with the teachings of Christ and the Church of Christ, the Church one reads about in the New Testament
We believe in Jesus Christ as God's Son and man's savior. Salvation is possible because of God's grace and the sacrifice of Christ. One must believe in God, Christ, the Holy Spirit and God's salvation plan as it is revealed in the New Testament. One must believe, repent, be baptized for the remission of sin and live a life according to Christ, however it is still the grace of God and the sacrifice of Christ that makes man's salvation possible. We can NOT justify ourselves.
Evangelism:
We do what we can to spread the Gospel in the area by conducting gospel meetings group studies visiting homes and also inviting all to attend various services and studies.
Benevolence:
The local congregation strives to take care of its own. When need arises we strive to meet both the financial needs of the members as well as practical needs our members may have (ref. Acts 6.1-3, 1.Corinthians 16.1-2).
Worship:
We meet on the first day of the week to encourage each other and to worship our God. We follow the New Testment pattern of Worship (Acts 2.42, Eph. 5.19, Col. 3.16, Matt. 26.26-29, 1.Cor. 11.23-28, 1.Cor. 16.1-2, and Acts 2.46, 20.7). Each worship assembly is a time of reverence and respect for God and His Son, Jesus Christ. We strive to worship in spirit and in truth!
Organization:
Jesus is the Head of the Church. He has authorized us to appoint qualified men to serve us as Elders, or overseers over the local congregation (Acts 14.23, 10.17-28, 1.Tim. 3.1-7). Other men serve the Church as Deacons (1.Tim.3.8-13) and they have various responsibilities in the work. Elders operate under the Headship of Jesus, we all work together harmoniously for the good of the entire congregation. Unity is maintained by following ONLY the teachings of Christ, without adding too or taking away from that which is revealed.
Please take contact if you have questions or what more information. You are always welcome to attend any of our services..
