1 Timothy 1: 12-14 12. And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry; 13. Who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief. 14. And the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus. 15. This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief. Abundant Faith Fellowship Our Vision
Purpose What Paul was saying in this passage is the essential element of the vision for Abundant Faith Fellowship. We are a ministry formed by sinners turned saints who have n one else to thank but Jesus Christ. It is by His Grave and Mercy that we are here and able to do the works that we have been commissioned to do. The purpose of this ministry is simply to help men and women of God to acknowledge that we are sinners but God makes us saints through faith. Ephesians 2:4-5 states, "But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dear in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)". To fully explain the purpose, it is necessary to break down the meaning of our name. Note: all of the following definitions are from the American Heritage Dictionary. 1. A·bun·dant adj. 1. Occurring in or marked by abundance; plentiful. 2. To be great in number or amount. 3. To be fully supplied or filled; tem. 2. Faith n. 1.. Often Faith. Theology. The theological virtue defined as secure belief in God and a trusting acceptance of God's will. 2. The body of dogma of a religion. 3. fel·low·ship n. 1.a. The condition of sharing similar interests, ideals, or experiences, as by reason of profession, religion, or nationality. b. The companionship of individuals in a congenial atmosphere and on equal terms. 2. A close association of friends or equals sharing similar interests. These three components make up who we are; we are a congenial gathering of men and women of God sharing a great and fully supplied belief in God. The vision of Abundant Faith Fellowship is to be a ministry and not just a church. We want to help Christians and sinner alike to be successful in life. We do not limit this to just their faith walk, but also to the everyday walks of life that we all must take. We understand that in order to be whole and complete, the changes that need to be made are not just spiritual but also physical, emotional and mental. If we can generate enough support for the whole person, we will have done our part to generate change in the community one person at a time. The church as we know it has become a mockery of it's former self. We are more focused on becoming great in numbers than working with and equipping the numbers that we have. Abundant Faith Fellowship is a ministry that is designed to help all those that are here so that they can go out and bring others through their salvation experience and testimonies. We stand firm to the belief that the church is a hospital and should function in that capacity. We invite those with "issues" to come and be a part. We are here for the purpose of helping those that need help, blessing those that need to be blessed and training those that desire training. The teachings of this ministry are not only based on the 18 articles of faith, but also on that fact that we are all sinners trying to be saints. We understand that sin is a part of our nature and while it is important to know and realize that truth, we are not allowed to bow down to that sin. We live with sin but should not live in sin. It is time for us to stop beating ourselves up when we fall or make a mistake. We except the fact that even though we are saved, we are still human, and were saved by the blood of the Perfect One, Jesus Christ. We believe that the church should be Apostolic. This implies that we will at the appropriate time do all that is within our power to aid a brother or sister in ministry in beginning the work that God has given them. Our commitment will be to share any and all recourses including a staff of trained church planting professionals who will aid in beginning the work and training staff. The ministry will be actively involved in the community. We have partnered with the Chief of Police and the City Manager in order to set relationships in motion that will get things accomplished. We have plans for the future to build a youth recreational center. Our pastor has committed to share his knowledge and experience as a systems engineer to train youth and others in computer skills and technology. We are also seeking to partner with agencies to help community members find employment and housing. As part of our relationship with the local government, we will be doing surveys to insure that local businesses are doing their part in keeping the city employed as well as making sure we as a people do our part to keep these companies in business. The branches of this ministry will grow as follows. We will have: . Singles ministry . Marriage ministry including affair recovery and prevention . Parenting and step-parenting ministry . Divorce recovery ministry . Dating ministry . Youth and young adult ministry . Children's ministry . Women's and men's ministry . Race relations ministry . College ministry . Teenage pregnancy ministry (with the help of planned parenthood) . Mother's against teen violence . Music therapy . Counseling (traditional and biblical) . Prayer . Education (tutorial) job placement and job training . Victim recovery, law enforcement and prison ministry We endeavor to change the tarnished reputation of the church and once again make it a vital institution for all. We understand that these are the last days and it is time to bring to people to knowledge of who God is and who they are to Him. Our focus is on the works and we are asking God to help us make changed that need to be made. We don't want to play church; we want to be a church; families of believers that pray for each other, help and assist each other, fast for each other, abstain from talking about each other and do what we can for each other. God make us to be family and we want to do family right. This is the vision of Abundant Faith Fellowship, a church that believes that all things are possible through Christ. We, like Paul, understand who we are without God and want to share that knowledge with others. We pray that there be no more false piety, no more traditional legalism. We endeavor to take back from the devil all that was taken from us through the aid of the Holy Spirit and in the name of Jesus. We believe in claiming our homes, our families, our jobs, our money, our peace, our sanity, our happiness and most of all, our salvation. Our prayer for you is that you will come into a true knowledge of Christ, accept Him and be saved. We pray for restoration of all that was taken illegally from you and your family in the spirit realm and that it is manifested in the natural. We ask these and all blessings in Jesus' name, Amen.
