We are committed to the concept of community and relational gathering rather than the typical institutional Church meetings. We have destroyed our pulpit, pews, and other obstacles which breed spectatorism and a seperation of clergy and laity. We preach the "Priesthood of the believer" and every member involvement for the mutual edification of all. (1 Corinthians 14:26)
We practice radical worship and praise with dancing, and the flowing of Holy Spirit anointing and gifts and believe in the spontaneous moving of the Spirit upon the congregation. We believe the roll of leadership is not to control or dominate our meetings but to make sure that the flow of our gatherings are always edifying and keeps Jesus Christ at the center of all we do. We have replaced the Sunday morning sermon with an invitation for all members to participate in the equiping and feeding process. We invite edifying input into the breaking of God's word. We celebrate the Lord's Supper after the searching of the soul and the confession of sin and repentance. We end our services with a full on Potluck Love Feast and a time for fun and sports or activities until everyone gets tired. (We remove the element of time from our services). We invite all peoples, both civilized and uncivilized to feel our love and acceptance. We love sinners and especially backsliders.
The Vineyard Home is a Christian Community Family of believers who live together, share things in common, and practice the disciplines of Christian growth. We are a fertile garden (Vineyard) where-in lives are cultivated for fruitfulness (Grapes). Where the grapes lose their individuality and blend together with other grapes, are crushed by the Spirit, sifted, strained and made into new wine to be set at the Masters table. Our teaching and coaching process centers upon helping others to develope strong roots in seven essential areas.
1. Relationship and intimacy with Jesus as Lord
2. Self Esteem building through the accompolishing of set goals
3. Family accountability and prefering others.
4. Committed "Belonging" vs. attendance to the Ekklesia (Church)
5. The practice of forgiveness and releasing of past offenses
6. Vocation, purpose and service. (Servants vs. Slaves)
7. Commitment to community. (Loving our neighbors as ourselves.
