MEDIOCRITY

Mediocrity is a region bounded on the North by compromise, on the South by indecision on the east by past thinking, and on the West by a lack of vision. The purpose of this message is to address areas in our lives that need improvement and to stir up the God-Given gifts and call within you. Every person have been endowed with a certain mixture of abilities and opportunities which make them unique. No gift is insignificant. There is something that God has placed within each of us that causes us to cry out to be above average and extraordinary. In Genesis chapter 3 verse 9 God asked Adam "Where are You"? He is still asking that question of each of us today. Where are you in regards to God's plan for your lives? Where are we concerning the gifts and talents He has given us? people who live defensively never rise above being average. We are called as saints to be offensive to take the initiative. A lukewarm indecisive person is never secure, regardless of his wealth, education or position. The attempt to maintain balance in our lives is really an excuse to be lukewarm. In Joshua 1:6,7,9, the Lord says three times to Joshua "Be strong and courageous." God is saying the same thing to us today. When you choose to be on the offensive the atmosphere of your life will begin to change. If you don't like the atmosphere in your life choose to take the offensive position. Taking the offensive position is not just an action taken by a person, it is always a decision made within. We are called to stand out not just blend in. Being on the offensive and taking the intiative is a master key which opens doors to opportunity in your life. Intimidation always precedes defeat. Taking the initiative is like two fisherman who got trapped in a storm in a boat in the middle of the lake, one turned to the other and asked, "Should we pray or row?" his companion said "Lets do both." That's taking the offensive. One of the most neglected areas in many people lives is the area of gifts that God has placed in us, it is amazing how some people can devote their entire life to a field, or profession, or calling that has nothing to do with their God given talent or gift. In fact the opposite is also true. Many people spend their whole lives trying to change what god has made or called them to be. We as people of god must rise up and be what god has called us to be, nothing more or less. Our prayer should be whatever you want me to be, whatever you want me to do,where ever you want me to go "Here am I send me."
