As Kansas City First Spanish Church of the Nazarene, we are committed to be a Great Commission, holiness, evangelistic, compassionate, loving and inclusive congregation. We're a Christian People/Somos un Pueblo Cristiano Como miembros de la Iglesia Universal, nos unimos a todos los verdaderos creyentes que proclaman el señorío de Jesucristo y abrazan el credo trinitario de la fe cristiana. Valoramos nuestra herencia Wesleyana de Santidad y creemos que es una manera de entender la fe que veraz a la Escritura, la razón, la tradición y la experiencia. As members of the Church Universal, we join with all true believers in proclaiming the lordship of Jesus Christ and in embracing the historic Trinitarian creedal statements of Christian faith. We value our Wesleyan-Holiness heritage and believe it to be a way of understanding the faith that is true to Scripture, reason, tradition, and experience. We Are a Holiness People/ Somos un Pueblo de Santidad Dios, quien es santo, nos llama a una vida de santidad. Creemos que el Espíritu santo busca hacer en nosotros una segunda obra de gracia, llamada de varias manera incluyendo "entera santificación" y "bautismo con el Espíritu Santo" limpiándonos de todo pecado; renovando en nosotros la imagen de Dios; dándonos poder para amar a Dios con todo nuestro corazón, alma, mente y fuerzas, y a nuestros prójimos como a nosotros mismo; y produciendo en nosotros el carácter de Cristo. La santidad en la vida de los creyentes es más claramente comprendida como "semejanza con Cristo". God, who is holy, calls us to a life of holiness. We believe that the Holy Spirit seeks to do in us a second work of grace, called by various terms including "entire sanctification" and "baptism with the Holy Sprit"--cleansing us from all sin; renewing us in the image of God; empowering us to love God with our whole heart, soul, mind, and strength, and our neighbors as ourselves; and producing in us the character of Christ. Holiness in the life of believers is most clearly understood as Christlikeness. We Are a Missional People/ Somos un Pueblo Misional Somos un "pueblo enviado", respondiendo al llamado de Cristo y enviado en el poder del Espíritu Santo para ir a todo el mundo, testificando del señorío de Cristo y participando con Dios en la edificación de la Iglesia y la extensión de Su reino (2 Corintios 6:1). Nuestra misión (a) comienza en adoración, (b) ministra al mundo en evangelismo y compasión, (c) anima a los creyentes a la madurez cristiana por medio del discipulado, y (d) prepara mujeres y hombres para el servicio cristiano por medio de la educación cristiana superior. We are a "sent people," responding to the call of Christ and empowered by the Holy Spirit to go into all the world, witnessing to the Lordship of Christ and participating with God in the building of the Church and the extension of His kingdom (2 Corinthians 6:1). Our mission (a) begins in worship, (b) ministers to the world in evangelism and compassion, (c) encourages believers toward Christian maturity through discipleship, and (d) prepares women and men for Christian service through Christian higher education.
