Our Purpose:
At Prince Avenue Baptist Church, our purpose is stated clearly, we are called to "Exalt the Savior, Equip the Believer, and Inform the Lost". In all we do at Prince Avenue, we strive to make Christ the central focus. He alone is our hope, our future, and our purpose for living. Without Him we can do nothing, through Him, we can do all things. Our church is located in the heart of the Oakwood community in historic Hannibal, Missouri and we cherish our rich tradition. However, we are challenged to create new and effective ways of demonstrating the relevence of God, His Word, and His expectations to the contemporary world. Our desire is that each individual truly worship the God of the Bible, that each person fall in love with Jesus. If you feel His leading to honor Him in our fellowship, we greet you with open arms. Your Purpose:
Humankind is the most treasured of all of God's creation. Each individual person is unique. Because of the basic truths found in Scripture, your purpose is made clear: 1. You are created in the image of God. Your value is immesurable! 2. You have been called to glorify God in all you do. 3. All humans have failed to do so (Romans 3:23) and this terrible truth cannot be ignored by a God who is perfect and holy. 4. God has sacrificed his own Son so that we could claim his holiness and recieve reward instead of punishment. 5. Our lives can be redeemed! Our true value can be found through our relationship with Christ. 6. We can, and indeed should, as believers in God's Gospel, worship Him in Spirit and in truth. 7. Jesus Christ has promised that He will return to earth again to judge all living. His children will be saved from eternal punishment. However, those who have rufused him will be eternally damned. 8. Your life is valuable. Your purpose can be fulfilled by no other. In order to redeem you, God spared no expense. And the simple truth is that,"those who call on the name of the Lord shall be saved." 9. You must make a decision. Jesus Christ's existance cannot be explained away. He is more than a prophet, more than a good moral teacher. He, in his very existance defines your very purpose. 10. Finally, your life is full of purpose, His purpose. Some will never live up to their full potential. May that not be said of you.
