"Wherever the bishop shall appear, there let the multitude of the people also be; even as, wherever Jesus Christ is, there is the (Orthodox) Catholic Church." - The Epistle of Ignatius to the Smyrnaeans, Chapter VIII

About our Mission to the Northeast

Not unto us, O Lord, not unto us, but unto Thy name give glory. Psalm 115:1 King James Version / Psalm 113:9 Douay-Rheims The best way to learn exactly what the Church is all about is to carefully read our founding Constitution, Statement of faith and Who we are. Our purposes, goals, objectives, and many more details about us are specified in our Constitution. Below are a few summary statements about The Orthodox Catholic Diocese of the North East, EOCCCA. The Orthodox Catholic Diocese of the North East is part of the Eastern Orthodox Catholic Church of Canada and the Americas, There are Three Dioceses and Each bishop of each dioceses are co-equal, in the true Apostolic tradition. "By this shall all men know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another." By this shall all men know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another." [John 13:35] In respecting the offices with in the church, Orthodox Catholic clergy practice uses honorifics and titles to address clergy According to their Office, which they hold. The Diocese's clergy are regular, normal workingmen who also are in Holy Orders in order to serve God and our fellow Orthodox Catholic Christians and to bring Heterodox Christians back into the fold of Holy Mother Church. Dedicated clergy willing to witness, by their lives and actions, by their sacrificial service, the Orthodox Christian Faith in its apostolic purity and to promote Orthodox Christian unity through out Holy Mother Church these are found with in Orthodoxy and our Diocese. We do not have and do not claim affiliation with the Pope of Rome nor with any other Patriarch. Such affiliation is not necessary. We follow the example of St. Maximus the Confessor St. Maximus the Confessor said: "Even if the whole universe holds communion with the [heretical] patriarch, I will not communicate with him. For I know from the writings of the holy Apostle Paul: the Holy Spirit declares that even the angels would be anathema if they should begin to preach another Gospel, introducing some new teaching." The desire to rule is the mother of heresies What Church Calendar do we use? We use the most Ancient Christian Calendar there is, has set forth by the Seven Ecumenical Councils, that is the Julian Calendar or sometimes called the Old Calendar.
