THIS WEEK'S MESSAGE

BE ENCOURAGED!
(Rev. 14:13)

Just a few days ago,one of GOD's great voices of in this age was silenced. Bishop Gilbert E. Patterson, Presiding Prelate of The Church of GOD In Christ was promoted from labor to reward. His was the privilege and great joy to preach and teach the Word of GOD with uncompromising fervor.

His passing went basically unmentioned by the news giants of our day. No great stories were written about his many contributions to all of us. Many times have I listened and been blessed by this great voice of compassion and victory. His passing came to many of us unexpectedly, but presents, nonetheless, a blessed opportunity for praise and adoration to a GOD who is always faithful.

The purpose of today's message is to give thanks to GOD for this wonderful gift in the person and ministry of this great Man of GOD. Further, it is my intention to encourage those of us who remain on this side of eternity.

We know that when this earthly house of this tabernacle is dissolved, we have another building.... Isn't it great to know that this is not the end for us. That the conclusion of our bodily existence does not constitute the End. As others who have gone before and the many who will follow, the scriptures assure us that "to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.

Man may not understand it, but we do know that GOD is faithful and that as we are faithful to Him, we shall see one another again. Death does not hold us, nor does it defeat us. The Word tells us that death is the final enemy to fall.

Bishop Patterson represented the steadiness that GOD requires of us all as we walk in this world, representing Him. Our message must be clear and our lives must mirror our Lord! Hard times, difficulties, sickness, even death cannot deter us from fulfilling the great commission to "Go" and "Teach." To proclaim the unceasing Word of GOD and to do so with both humility and with power. To preach JESUS and Him crucified and Him raised from the dead. And GOD, by His Word, assures us that if we are faithful unto death, He will give us a Crown of Life!

Thousands of lives were impacted by Bishop's preaching and teaching; by his steadfast defense of the Gospel; by his consistent articulation of the Message of JESUS Christ. Even though the world did not choose to recognize his service to the Lord and therefore to the Kingdom of GOD; GOD both recognizes him and his service and guarantees that his living was not in vain and that his work has not ended with his departure from this plain of life.

I believe what the Word assures us in the Book of The Revelation, Chapter 14, verses 12 & 13: " Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of GOD, and the faith of JESUS. And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, "Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth; Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours, and their works do follow them."

The Lord assures us that He knows the work that we have done and that we continue to faithfully do. He is well aware of the trouble that we are forced to endure. Although it seems that we are at times small and overwhelmed numerically, politically and otherwise; we are actually quite rich. Our treasures are not here, but are where our heart is. What a blessing to know that all we have done in His Name and to His Glory will continue and be remembered, even when we are gone. The old Saints used to sing,"May the Works I've done speak for me." God, by His Word, says they do!!

Do not be fearful of any of the things which we have and are about to suffer. The world may not recognize the many accomplishments of Bishop Patterson. It may never understand your works and labors in the Lord. BUT! BUT! GOD Does! And because GOD is who He is and we are who we are in Him, We shall see Him face to face in all of His Glory! So, let us not be like those who have no hope, for our hope is in JESUS! We shall see Bishop Patterson again, but more importantly, we shall see JESUS! Our eyes shall behold Him and not another!

We are to encourage one another with the fact of the Word! What fact? When all is said and done on this earthly plain, there is still the eternal matter of the resurrection of the dead. What a blessing to know and be encouraged by the Word! Be Encouraged!!

Blessings!

THIS MINISTRY AND THE FUTURE

Our Present and Our Future

New Covenant has always been blessed as a benevolent ministry; feeding the hungry (Food Pantry), Visiting the sick and shut-in (Mission Outreach), Witnessing and ministering in hospitals, sickrooms, nursing homes (Outreach Mission) Ministering in Prisons and setting up aftercare for released prisoners (Compassion Ministries). We invision all this and more, including Christian Academy and Day Care, Accredited Bible Institute and Seminary, an Abused Women's Shelter, A Men's Shelter and Family Shelters, etc. There is so much more.

Right now, we know that GOD has ordained our move out of our present location to a property upon which we can do all He has set our hearts to. Already, we have negotiated for the property and are in process of raising the needed finances to secure the land and put up our first building. The cost of this property including building construction is @$1,000,000. Be in prayer with us as we look to GOD to bring the vision into manifestation. As GOD moves upon your heart, help us make the vision a reality!
