1.0 History Overview
CHOSEN VESSELS ASSEMBLY Church of God in Christ[COGIC] began early 1996. It was started by the Founding Pastor Patrick Edet on the foundation of JESUS CHRIST from an uncompleted building located at Oluwole Close in Okota. It now has its Headquarters at 1, Olusesi Way, Ago, with the membership of 250 people men and women, old and young, from all walks of life and educational backgrounds. People of all walks of life come in weeks after to experience fulfillment in every area of their lives.
2.0 VISION
Over the last two years the unique Vision, Anointing and Grace of God upon CHOSEN VESSELS ASSEMBLY COGIC has unfolded and been revealed by the Holy Spirit Himself. It is this unique ministry that we feel led by the Spirit to take to major cities in Nigeria, Africa and the world as a whole. This is God's purpose and the timing is perfect.
The vision is not just to plant churches but also to take over major cities. Inclusive in Church planting will also be a Telecast on the most popular station of that city as God open the door, our immediate goal is to properly establish our Headquarter Church first that could seat at least 3000 members. Thereafter the Ministry would work towards establishing an Outreach Church per quarter. The Local Outreach Churches will serve as a center of Outreach for that area and for other aspects of the vision as it unfolds.
3.0 STRATEGIES
Every city shall be taken after careful planning and research has been done and after the provision of effective manpower and material/financial resources, basically rationalization strategy shall be adopted. There shall be a Secretariat in the Headquarter dedicated for the Outreach/Mission Programme.
3.1 RESEARCH
We understand from scriptures that Satan has possessed the whole cities and assigned principalities and powers over them. They in turn have not only taken over the inhabitants of those cities but even the Land.
The objectives of the research in any city will be:
(i) To find out the prevalent spirit of darkness that rules the land and the inhabitants. This can be done through prayers handled by the advance party that would be sent to the city.
(ii) To locate property for the church building in a centrally located part of the city.
(iii) To identify the socio-cultural peculiarities of that city.
3.2 MANPOWER
This is a very vital area, as we shall require our best hand to continue the work after the APOSTOLIC INAUGURATION. Here out attention is primarily on the Man (Pastor) who is being sent to nurture the work in that city.
The man to be sent must:
(i) Have the Grace and Anointing of CHOSEN VESSELS in his heart. This is only possible through a period of training at the Headquarter under the General Overseer.
(ii) Be a man whose identification with the commitment to God's vision for Chosen Vessels Assembly COGIC is proven. In other words, he will be a Man of the Spirit.
(iii) Be adequately provided for with necessary comfort to enhance his productivity. The idea is to post a man that will represent the vision and image of the Ministry effectively.

3.3 COMMUNICATION MEDIA
The Chosen Vessels Assembly COGIC will go beyond the pulpit. Our aim is to reach everybody both, rich and poor through Television, Radio etc.
Some of the Media of Communications are:
1.TELEVISION MINISTRY:
Our next objective in any city will be the Television Ministry. Our CHOSEN VESSELS TELECAST will come on air at least a month or two before the church itself starts. This is to create awareness. The Television Ministry will offer among other things counseling prayers and could be used to seek financial support for the mission programme. The Telecast will be preferred on the most popular Television Station in that city for a wider coverage.
2.RADIO MINISTRY:
This will compliment the Television Ministry. It will be mainly for counseling and other administrative work in all the Major Outreach Centers.
3.OTHER COMMUNICATION TOOLS:
The Outreach Programme will be sustained with other Media such as print (newspapers, magazines, tracks, posters handbills etc).
3.4 THE LOCAL CHURCH
While the Television Ministry is already in operation, the Outreach Director would begin a serious work to locate a good place for the church. He should be able to mobilize a group of believers to pray for that city and the work.
Before the Apostolic Inauguration of any church, the following should be in place, as the case may be, a centrally located building to be used as a Church building either for rent or outright purchase,adequate public address system for the church building and a complete set of musical instruments.
4.0 IMMEDIATE NEEDS:
In line with the vision to properly establish the Outreach Church as a first step, the followings are needed urgently. Television Equipment (Pneumatic Camera and Editing Facilities). Personal computers, and sets of Musical Instrument.
5.0 FINANCE:
The place and importance of finance in this great vision cannot be over-emphasized. One of the major limitations we are facing in our attempt to fulfill our vision is that we are presently using a rented property, which makes us unable to gather enough finances to buy a land and begin to build. 5.1 COVENANT PARTNERS ARRANGEMENT
This involves membership enlistment to support the programme spiritually, materially and financially. These members would be called "Covenant Partners". They may not necessarily be members of CHOSEN VESSELS ASSEMBLY COGIC; they are to make a commitment to pay a certain amount of money on a monthly basis towards the building project and support for the ministers. "Covenant Partners" are to be kept informed of the progress of the Church activities. The challenges in the field and testimonies. There will be occasional "Covenant Partners Meetings" to pray as a body towards the expansion of the programme. A communication line would be maintained through the Secretariat.

5.2 MISSION SUNDAY:
The Third Sunday of every month shall be dedicated as our "Mission Sunday" in Chosen Vessels Assembly COGIC where a special offering will be raised for Missions into the villages yet to hear the Gospel.
