What we believe:

We believe in the trinity. We believe that the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit are three distinct Persons that make up the Godhead. Three distinct Persons, but one undivided essence. We believe that salvation is of FREE SOVEREIGN GRACE. We believe that God the Father before creation has chosen a people to salvation. We believe that this choice of certain sinners was unconditional. In other words it was in no way based upon the sinner. We believe that Christ by his active and passive obedience has fully satisfied the Law and Justice of God for the elect ONLY! Making their salvation sure and certain. In this obedience he established a righteouness that is imputed to them when they believe the gospel. We believe the atonement of Christ to be both SUCCESSFUL and EFFECTUAL, in securing the salvation of God's elect. We also believe that the Holy Spirit will in due time regenerate and effectually call the elect to Christ. We believe that all of God's people (the elect) will be willing to come to Christ when they are regenerated by the Holy Spirit. It is the Holy Spirit who works faith in their hearts. This faith is not the grounds of their salvation, but rather the God-appointed means to it. The righteousness of Christ being the sole grounds. We believe in a DOUBLE PREDESTINATION; election and reprobation being its two parts. God is the positive cause in election, but he is the negative cause of reprobation. God is active in bringing about the salvation of the elect, but he is passive in the condemnation of the non-elect or the reprobate. In other words, in reprobation God simply leaves man to himself, by witholding His special, saving mercies from him. This work of God is called preterition, whereby God passes by the non-elect leaving him in his sins.

God is ABSOLUTELY and INDISPUTEDLY SOVEREIGN in the salvation of sinners. This is the doctrine that cause men to tremble. Men don't mind God being Sovereign in creation, providence, or in calling the believer to a certain area of ministry. But just the mention of God being SOVEREIGN in the salvation of a sinner is repulsive to the thinking of not only the unbeliever, but also to many professing believers as well. Many men who fill pulpits across America would never use the words SOVEREIGNTY and SALVATION in the same sentence. They believe that regeneration is synergistic. They believe that in regeneration God does his part and the sinner does his. But beloveds this cannot be, because the sinner is dead. In other words, he cannot cooperate. In regeneration God ALONE work. Paul in Eph.2:1 "And you hath HE quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins". Notice "HE" alone quickens us. In Phil.1:6 Paul says "HE which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ". God ALONE begins the good work. This is called a MONERGISTIC regeneration. It is a Sovereign work of God's Spirit whereby He renews the faculties of the soul, enabling the sinner to respond positively to the gospel. Lesson by Elder Burrell
