The Power of Predestination (Rms.8: 1-39)

Lk: 1:37 - "For with God nothing shall be impossible." Since the beginning of time, God has called men into ministry with a predetermined mission. "And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God. And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose."(Rms.8: 27-28) At the entry point of salvation (belief in God), God determined our past, present and future. The past was determined the moment that we believed (Rms.3: 21-26), the present determined because we are being saved through the process of sanctification (Rms.6: 1, 8: 39), and the future- although we have not fully received all the benefits and blessings of salvation that will be ours when Christ's new kingdom is complete, we look ahead to the complete change of body and personality that lies beyond this life when we will be like Christ (1Jn.3: 2). As a believer, you are not left to your own resources to cope with problems. Even when you don't know the right words to pray, the Holy Spirit prays with and for you, and God answers. God works in all things, not just out-of-the-way incidents- for our good. This does not mean that everything that happens to us is good. Evil is prevalent in this fallen world, but God is able to turn every circumstance around for a long-range good. God finished you before he started you! "For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified." (Rms.8: 29-30)

Power to Overcome (Rms.6: 1, 7: 1-25)

In Luke 10: 17, the Disciples had experienced tremendous results as they ministered in Jesus' name and with His authority (exousia, gr. - Divine authority) They were jubilant about the victories they had witnessed and Jesus shared their enthusiasm, but he helped them to get their priorites right- reminding them first, that their names were written in heaven. They had the "exousia" only because Jesus was on the earth. It was upon his departure from the earth that he sent back the "dunemos" (gr. Dynamite power, the power of the Holy Ghost), the Promise. When you have enemy problems, you need more than words…. You need the Anointing!
