WELCOME All of us at Calvary Chapel of Greater Hartford wish to welcome you and your family. The Pastor, his bride, and the other ministry workers desire to serve you in all of your needs. Should you have any questions or comments, please, stop and ask us for assistance. WHAT DOES CALVARY CHAPEL OF GREATER HARTFORD BELIEVE IN ? We are commissioned by Jesus Christ to preach the Word (The Gospel). The "Good News" that God was incarnated in the flesh (in the form of the man, Jesus Christ), and came to redeem all of mankind from their sins. We believe in all of the doctrines of the Bible and believe that salvation comes to all mankind who continue to abide in Jesus Christ. John 15:6 We believe in the Incarnation of God in the flesh, Jesus Christ; His virgin birth; His sinless life; His Deity (the fact that Jesus was in fact God); His dying upon the cross for our sins; His resurrection on the third day and His accession to the right-hand of God the Father, and the giving of the Holy Spirit to lead and guide us in the way that we should go. When it comes to the subject of tithes and offerings, we believe that our Lord puts the desire in the hearts of His people to give of their tithes and offerings to the Lord. We make a time available after the Sunday morning services for those who do fellowship here on a regular basis to give to God of their "first fruits." We inform those who are visiting Calvary Chapel of Greater Hartford that they are not compelled to give their tithes here, but to support their local church where they fellowship regularly. We do not make any push for the people of God to give of their money to the church. As we teach the Bible systematically, there are references to the giving of tithes and offerings and it is only then that we teach what the Bible does have to say regarding the giving of tithes and offerings.
STATEMENT OF FAITH WE BELIEVE: The Bible to be the all inspired, only infallible, authoritative, inerrant Word of God. (II Timothy 3: 15-17; II Peter 1:21) WE BELIEVE: There is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (Genesis 1:1; Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; John 10:30) WE BELIEVE: In the Deity of Christ, (John 10:33); His virgin birth, (Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:23; Luke 1:34-35); His sinless life, (Hebrews 4:15, 7:26); His miracles, (John 2:11); His vicarious and atoning death for ALL mankind, (I Corinthians 15:3; Ephesians 1:7; Hebrews 2:9); His resurrection, (John 11:25; I Corinthians 15:4); His ascension to the right hand of the Father, (Mark 16:19); His personal return to earth in power and glory, (Acts 1:11; Revelation 19:11-16) WE BELIEVE: In the absolute necessity of regeneration by the Holy Spirit for salvation because of the exceeding sinfulness of our human nature, and that all are justified on the single basis of our faith in the shed blood of Christ, and that only by God's grace, through faith alone, are we saved, (John 3:16-19, 5:24; Romans 3:23, 5:8-9; Ephesians 2:8-10; Titus 3:5) WE BELIEVE: In the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; those that are saved unto the resurrection of life; and they that are not saved unto the resurrection of damnation, (John 5:28-29) WE BELIEVE: In the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ, (Romans 8:9; I Corinthians 12:12-13; Galatians 3:26-29) WE BELIEVE: In the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by Whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a Godly life, (Romans 8:13-14; I Corinthians 3:16, 6:19-20; Ephesians 4:30, 5:18)
