Superintendent Carlos R. Bell has resigned as Pastor of Holy Temple and District Superintendent of the S.D. Lee Memorial District. The church is currently under the spritual leadership of the distinguished Bishop J. Edward Lee. You are invited to worship with us at anytime.
The late Bishop Sidney D. Lee was saved July 16, 1916 in Tyler, Texas at the Bethel Temple COGIC. Bethel Temple is the first holiness church in the state of Texas, founded and organized by Elder James Blakeney in 1899. The late Bishop E. M. Page appointed Elder Lee as spiritual leader of Bethel Temple in 1918. He served Bethel Temple for over 65 years. Bishop Page appointed him as one of the orginal District Superintendents in Texas. He requested and was granted permission from his leaders to organize the Texas East Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction in 1967. Supt. Bell organized and named the district in memory of Bishop S. D. Lee in June 1999. The district is currently under the leadership of Bishop S. D. Lee's grandson, Superintendent J. Edward Lee, II. The S. D. Lee Memorial District is a member of the Texas East Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction, under the leadership of Bishop J. Edward Lee, Jurisdictional Prelate.
