Bishop J. Edward Lee was consecrated to the Office of Bishop by the late Presiding Bishop J. O. Patterson, Sr. and General Board in 1984. He is the Prelate of the Texas East Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction. He also serves as Chairman of the Judiciary Committee of the Board of Bishop's Church of God in Christ (COGIC). Bishop Lee is well known for his work in the COGIC Youth Department, National Elder's Council, and Board of Bishop's. Bishop Lee is married to Missionary Sherel B. Lee. She is the daughter of the late Bishop A. D. and Mother Ida Mae Baxter of Coatesville, PA. Missionary Lee is well known for her praying spirit and singing. They are the proud parents of Elder James E. Lee, II, Shari M. Lee, and Veronica N. Lee. Each of their childeren are college graduates and actively involved in the ministry.
