The Alpha and Omega Anglican Church is in the beginning phases of establishing a Bishop's School in the Anglican tradition for the purpose of reading for Holy Orders. It will begin as a distance-learning school, and eventually become a residential seminary. Called Holy Spirit College, it offers a diploma in biblical studies, the bachelor degree, and several master's degrees. If you are interested please call Bishop Michael B Simmons at 334-335-6166, or write him at 200 W 3rd St., Luverne, AL 36049. If you are interested in making a tax-deductible contribution to the school, or setting up a foundation, please contact Bishop Simmons at the above number or address. We need and appreciate your help in getting us started in this important ministry. We are evangelical, charismatic, and liturgical (Book of Common Prayer Rites I & II).The vision includes seven colleges based on the collegial concept of Oxford University, as follows: St. Paul's College: to train for the apostolic ministry (Eph. 4:11); Elijah College: to train for the prophetic ministry (Eph. 4:11); St. Philip's College: to train for the evangelistic ministry (Eph. 4:11); St. Timothy's Colletge: to train for the pastoral ministry (Eph. 4:11); Sacred Word College: to train for the teaching ministry (Eph. 4:11); Holy Spirit College: a Bible College for general ministerial training; and Jesus College: a graduate school for theological/historical/biblical research degrees. If you are not interested in taking a degree, you can take several courses for personal amelioration and fulfillment. And if you cannot make a contribution to help us, please remember us in your prayers during this time when the Holy Spirit is bringing greatly needed sprirtual renewal to our brothers and sisters in the Anglican tradition. The Communion of Evangelical Episcopal Churches is one of the newest Anglican communions. We are involved in the Convergence Movement (blending the evangelical, charismatic, and sacramental/liturgical), and all of our bishops are consecrated according to Apostolic Succession in the One Holy Apostolic and Catholic Church.
We are a church in the Gulf Coast Diocese of the Communion of Evangelical Episcopal Churches, and the diocese is now drawing up plans for the creation of a new religious order. It will be called the Order of St. Augustine of Canterbury, and it will offer membership to qualified persons from all denominations who are both clergy and laity. We also are planning for the creation of celibate orders for monks and nuns who will live in residential communities. If you are interested in helping us financially with a tax-deductible contribution, or if you are interested in becoming a member of the order, please contact Bishop Michael B. Simmons, 200 W. 3rd St., Luverne, AL 36049. Phone: 334-335-6166. Email: mbsimmons@fcbl.net. Or contact either Archbishop McClanahan or Bishop Rankin (listed above) PAX CHRISTI
