Our Motto
First Church is the charter membership of COGIC in the greater Wichita area. Our legacy of membership stretches back more than 80yrs. Founder Bishop Jones was one of the "original sons" of the COGIC, who passed the legacy to the late Bishop I.B.Brown who celebrated more 100yrs of life before going home to meet the Lord. Pastor Sherrod and congregation wants all to know that. "You are always welcomed to a place where everybody is somebody."
Traditional COGIC
First Church is one of the more traditional churches with one of the oldest memberships in the area. We are highly involved in the community, with our weekly noon Community Prayer and our involvement in African American Aids Awareness programs (Sis. M Swinton). Although First Church may be old in name "we are young in spirit." "A Place Where Everybody Is Somebody"
