The mission of Solid Rock Church is to present the gospel of Jesus Christ with both power and compassion to the people of the Fox Valley and surrounding area so that pre-Christians come to know Christ (Evangelism), Christians become disciples (Edification), disciples become leaders (Equipping), and leaders are sent into the world to reach others for Christ (Extension).
1. We Value Relationship With God: We value intimacy with God and relationship, not just the practicing of religion. We believe true relationship with God is vibrant, growing, and evidenced by lives of humility toward God, obedience to the Scripture and compassion toward our fellow-men (2 Peter 3:18; Micah 6:8). 2. We Value Christian Community: Relationships based on biblical principles are essential for the church to be healthy and strong. It is in the context of the Christian community that needs are met and lives are transformed. This is why we are committed to small groups as the foundational structure of our ministry. Small groups provide avenues for growth, healing, strong friendships and leadership development and (Philemon 1:2; Romans 16:5; Colossians 4:15). 3. We Value Expressive, Heartfelt Worship: We invest much of our time in our gatherings to expressing our hearts to the Lord through worship and prayer. Our style of worship utilizes contemporary music as a vehicle for praise, adoration, and celebratory singing. Learning to worship freely from our hearts is an important goal for us (Psalm 22:3; Acts 16:25-30). 4. We Value Equipping Believers for Ministry: Every believer has unique gifts to be developed and used to strengthen the church. The role of church leadership is to help its members identify their gifts and integrate them into ministries that match their gifts When operating in their gifts, the person is no longer working in their own strength, but he Holy Spirit is working through them and there is joy and success, and effectiveness (Ephesians 4:11-16; Romans 12:4-8). 5. We Value Being Spirit Empowered and Led: We value the presence and dynamic of the Holy Spirit in all that we do. We desire that our gatherings be flexible enough in format to allow the Living God to interact with His people through the ministry gifts of the Spirit, prayer for healing, along with preaching that is both anointed and prophetic. The Holy Spirit not only brings us the words of Jesus, but also continues to do the works of Jesus -- healing, deliverance, forgiveness and cleansing in our midst as well. 6. We Value Spiritual Multiplication: We value being disciples of Jesus Christ and participating with him in the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20) by seeking to bring others into a relationship with him. So in order to fulfill the Great Commission we value the multiplication of disciples, small groups of disciples and churches (Acts 16:5; Acts 9:31; 2 Timothy 2:2).
