History of the Church
The Strong Tower Faith Ministry was founded February of 1997. The church was founded by Pastor Nakia L. Buchanan. Pastor Buchanan was a faithful missionary at Temple of Deliverance COGIC under the anointed leadership of Bishop Gilbert Earl Patterson. After being a faithful worker at Temple of Deliverance for seven years, the Lord led Pastor Buchanan to plant a church in the Texas Court Community in the South area of Memphis. Pastor Buchanan obeyed the voice of God and purchased what was formerly known as Brown's Grocery Store at 47 East Olive. Within two years, the property was paid for and expansion was completed in 1999. Souls have been saved, bodies healed, and backsliders reclaimed during the three years that the church has been in existence. Presently, the church is growing and expanding to the Raleigh community at 3412 Chapel Road. God's favor is upon this ministry. Along with initiating steady and visionary leadership at Strong Tower, Pastor Buchanan is a faithful servant in the Maine Jurisdiction as well as in the national church of the Church of God in Christ.
