Simmons Chapel A.M.E.Zion Church is the "Little Church Where Miracles Happen." It is the "Freedom Church" with a rich heritage. It is the church of historical notables such as Sojourner Truth, Harriet Tubman, and Frederick Douglass. Our founding bishop was Bishop James Varick. The A.M.E.Zion Church has been in existence since 1796. At Simmons Chapel A.M.E.Zion Church, we welcome all people.
