Why ‘Sabbath Christian Fellowship’?

I preached a sermon one time in Numbers 35 about the cities of refuge. That sermon helped me to click into focus, a little clearer, something that I had felt for quite some time: a conviction that the church of Jesus Christ is to be a type of city of refuge, a "safe place," for people to come to find, worship and serve God. THIS is the purpose Sabbath Christian Fellowship has come into existence: to be a Christ centered, interdenominational supplementary ministry that meets on Sabbaths. CHRIST CENTERED because we're not out to promote or demote any person, prophet, church, organization or denomination. We want only to promote the Jesus Christ of Scripture. Only He has the power to change lives. Only He has the ability to forgive us of our past, help us with our todays and take care of our tomorrows. He is more than sufficient for us. We say INTERDENOMINATIONAL SUPPLEMENTARY MINISTRY because we strive to create a special setting where Christians from all denominations can bring their lost friends to investigate the claims of Christianity and Christ without the fear of someone else's agenda and without having to dispute extra-biblical claims. It is a place to come and learn how to survive and grow spiritually, emotionally and mentally in today's world. It is a haven where it's safe to laugh, to cry, to vent, to grow. Sabbath Christian Fellowship is a learning ground to come to discover and use the gifts that God has given. It is a sanctuary to express worship to God in a way that's not necessarily traditional but not out of control either. Recognizing the power of focus, Sabbath Christian Fellowship divides its ministry three ways: Calling, Equipping, Sending. Every service, program, meeting, etc., is regularly scrutinized to determine whether it is true to at least one of the three criteria. If it is not, it is eliminated.

What We Believe and How to Contact Us

These are the Essential Beliefs that keep Sabbath Christian Fellowship Unified: THE BIBLE We believe that the present collection of sixty-six books in the Holy Bible is the first, final and sufficient authority on all matters. It is different from any other writings, teachings or scriptures in that it is the True and Living Word of the Eternal God of the Universe. We believe that it is entirely inspired of God and therefore, flawless. SALVATION We believe that Salvation is a free gift from God possible because of and through Jesus Christ. Salvation is God forgiving and cleansing away the guilt of all the bad that we have ever done; a bathing of our heart. It's like being born again, starting over, or having another chance at life. It's like we've never done anything wrong in His eyes. Salvation is not something that we can earn. It is not awarded to us because we've been good, because we haven't been. It is not given to us because we have reached a certain level of morality, because we haven't. We are saved by entering and staying in a saving relationship with Jesus Christ. Salvation is absolutely free for the asking. Only God can give us salvation, we cannot get it on our own. No person, church or other being can give us salvation. JESUS CHRIST We believe that Jesus Christ existed before He came to earth. He came to earth through the virgin, Mary, as described in the Bible. He was fully God, fully man. He lived a perfect and faultless life. He died a physical death on a cross. He paid the penalty for all of our sins. He was resurrected back into physical life. He had a physical body that was in function essentially the same as ours before and after the Resurrection. He will not reject any that call out to Him. He will save from eternal destruction any and all that will enter into a saving relationship with Him. SABBATH We believe that, since Creation, time has been divided into seven day portions and that the seventh and last portion is, according to Scripture, different. God blessed that day, called it "a sacred assembly," "a Sabbath to Him" and intended for it to be both a physical and spiritual day of rest created for us. God included it in the Ten Commandments and told us to remember to do it, because He knew if He didn't, we wouldn't. We do not believe that by keeping the Sabbath or any of the laws or commandments, we will be saved. We do believe that the Bible tells how to have a better quality of life. BAPTISM We believe that believers should follow the direction and example of Jesus and experience full immersion baptism if possible. Baptism is something that believers are biblically instructed to do after they have been born again as an outward expression of an inward change. We don't recognize infant baptism because an infant is not able to believe. To find out more about us email us at "The7thday@juno.com" or write to us...
