Our key verse is Colossians 4:5...redeeming the time.

KAIROS CHURCH WAS LAUNCHED ON SUNDAY 9 AUGUST 1998.
OUR PURPOSE
Kairos Church purpose is to treat non Christians (unbelievers,unsaved,non-churchgoers,seekers)with love and respect, relate to their needs and share the Word of God in a practical, understanding manner.
THE PEOPLE WE'RE SERVING
KAIROS CHURCH is ministering to people in Portland, Lentegeur, Rocklands and surrounding areas in Mitchells Plain, Cape Town Western Cape, South Africa. Mitchells Plain is divided in 18 sub-regions with an estimated population of 1 million people. (predominantly coloured people) Of prominence in the community is unemployment.
According to statistics 53% of people throughout South Africa live below the poverty datum line earning an income of R301.00 in South African Rand - 50 US dollars) per month. Due to the lack of health and counselling facilities,the incidents of unemployment perpetuates the following social ills; crime, drug abuse, gansterism, child abuse, high divorce rate, school drop-outs, etc.
One of the challenges which we are faced with at Kairos is to actively respond to the needs of the poor and the disadvantaged in a manner which is both effective and biblical.
Our vision is the promotion of services to our communities. Through developing a model of personal education which is community based. Daily we impart our skills and knowledge to others less fortunate, giving them hope of fulfilling their purposes in God.
The obstacle that we encounter is the shortage of finances for services to expand.

ADULT EDUCATION
At Kairos our foundation is Christ. We build upon prayer, fellowship and teaching of the Word of God. Pastor Basil Ockhuis studies towards a BA Degree in Bible Theology at the end of 1990. Weekly Pastor Basil equip the members to do the work of the ministry.
CHILD DEDICATION
Parents have the responsibility to bring their children to be dedicated to the Lord.
COMMUNION
We observe this victorious event monthly.
COMMUNITY PROJECTS
This is essential for the empowering and upliftment of the standard of living of the poor in our communities and surrounding areas.
EVANGELISM
Spreading the good news is firstly encouraged locally then nationally and internationally.
FELLOWSHIP
Groups are formed around home cells, Adult Education and prayer meetings. This offer an opportunity for meeting, studying and forming friendships.
LADIES
Meet for prayer, encouragement, visisting of the sick and doing good works.
MEN'S
They motivate themselves and other men to maximize their manhood to the full.
MEMBERSHIP
This should follow after an inward acknowledgement that God called you to be part of the church.
MINISTRY OF HELP TO THE SICK
Available to those who is hospitalise or ill at home.
PREMARITAL COUNSELING
Before any agreement to perform a wedding can be made support will be given to couples.
PRAYER
We have Intersessory prayer before each service. Emphasis is on praying for the unsaved, sick, churches, ministries, country & world leaders.
WATER BAPTISM
Help regularly for those who accepted Christ as Lord and Saviour.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO CONTINUE OUR MUCH NEEDED SERVICES !
ESTIMATED AMOUNTS IN DOLLARS FROM THE HIGHEST TO THE LOWEST.(1) MULTI-PURPOSE CHURCH & COMMUNITY FACILITY
cost $1 million over 5 years. Only $100 000 per month. The Building will have an auditorium,conference area, administration block, youth games centre-/internet-coffee bar, computer room, gymasium, library, children's playground/park.
((2) SCHOOL LEAVERS SCHOLARSHIP FUND
COST $100 000 per year to assist approxiamately 100 student with a bursary to further their studies. Only $350 per month sponsors the education and training of a young person.
((3) JOB CREATION PROJECT
COST $25 000 per year. Only $200 per month to train women to teach their own children at home.
((4) FOOD RELIEF
COST $20 000 per year to feed about 50 families per week. Only $200 per month provide 50 families a bag of food. Catering for the disadvantaged lower income people of our community.
((5) MINI-BUS
COST $20 000 once-off to assist seniors and people who have no access to meetings.The sponsors name will be printed on the bus.
((6) REAL LIFE MISSIONS X 5
COST $10 000 per year to minister the Word of God to non-churchgoer and encourage believers to continue serving the Lord. Only $100 per month supports one ministry team towards traveling.
((7) TRAINING/MATERIAL/CONFERENCE
COST $6 000 per year. Only $100 per month help our church staff and members of the community to stay on the cutting edge.
((8) JUNE & SEPTEMBER SCHOOL HOLIDAY PROGRAMS
COST $6 000 per year. Only $200 per month help to book campsites for young people, meals, staff and transport
((9) EQUIPMENT SOUND/PROJECTOR/COMPUTER/PHOTOCOPIER
cost $6 000 per year to make our tasks more effective.
((10) RENTAL OF HALL
COST $6 000 for one year use of a 200 seater hall, until we build our own building.
