The Parish of Saint George the Martyr, White Rock-South Surrey, was the second parish of the Christian Episcopal Church of Canada to be established. Saint George's Parish was founded in 1997 by former members of the Anglican Church of Canada who wanted to preserve and maintain authentic traditional Anglican faith and worship within the fellowship of Christian Episcopal Churches of Canada and the United States of America. Saint George's Parish serves the communities of White Rock, South Surrey, and Langley, in the southern part of the Lower Mainland of British Columbia. The members of Saint George's Parish are warm, friendly, and accepting. There is a strong emphasis on sound Biblical Christian doctrine and on catholic and evangelical Christian witness. All are welcome to join in worship, and to experience the peace and joy of knowing Jesus Christ in Word and Sacrament, and in Christian fellowship.
The Christian Episcopal Church of Canada was established in 1991 by baptised and confirmed members of the Anglican Church of Canada who wanted to preserve and maintain authentic traditional Anglican faith and worship. The Christian Episcopal Church of Canada upholds the truth and supreme authority of the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments; the truth and authority of the Three Creeds of the one holy Catholic Church (the Apostles' Creed, the Nicene Creed, and the Athanasian Creed); the Thirty-nine Articles of Religion and the 1662 Book of Common Prayer of the Church of England as the four Doctrinal Standards of their Church.
All worship is conducted according to the 1962 Canadian Anglican revision of the 1662 Book of Common Prayer of the Church of England, and the old blue 1938 Canadian Anglican Book of Common Praise, together with the Canadian Anglican Psalter and the Canadian Anglican Book of Occasional Offices.
The Christian Episcopal Churches of Canada receives the Apostolic Succession through their Archbishop and Primate, The Most Rev. A. Donald Davies, the former Episcopal Bishop of Dallas and of Fort Worth, Texas, and through the Bishops of the Christian Episcopal Church in the United States of America and the orthodox Bishops of the Anglican tradition in communion with them.
Through Archbishop Davies and the Bishops of the Christian Episcopal Church in the United States of America, the Canadian branch of the Christian Episcopal Church maintains formal links with all the Provinces and Dioceses of the greater Anglican Communion which have remained faithful to Biblical Christian faith and the order of the undivided primitive Catholic and Apostolic Church.
