Our Mission Statement
Pisgah UMC is a Christian community expressing its faith through worship and action. In response to the love of God and the example of Jesus Christ, we are called to: *WITNESS - to reach out to all persons in our society in its diversity, accepting them just as they are and ministering to their needs. *NURTURE - to provide opportunities for spiritual growth and development as we nurture Christian discipleship. *OUTREACH - to equip and send disciples into the world to make life more loving and just for all. To accomplish this mission, we seek the guidance of the Holy Spirit and blessing of God in developing effective ministries in the home, workplace, community and the world.
Children Ministries
Our Children's Program exist to instill Biblical Christian values and principles through education and to introduce our children to Jesus Christ. Our desire for each child is: 1. That they know the Bible is God's revealed truth to mankind and to "hide His words in their hearts that they might not sin against God" (Ps. 119:105; 2 Tim. 3;15). 2. To show them that there is a loving heavenly Father who created them, loves them and provides a way through His Son that they can know Him, and has a wonderful plan gor their life (Jh. 3:16). 3. To develop Christ' character in them that they, "would grow in wisdom, stature, and favor with God and mankind," (Lk.2:52- spiritually, emotionally, and physically). 4. To teach the children to share the love of Jesus with others (Lk. 2:49). 5. To build close relationships with others in the body of Christ, both peers and adults (1Cor. 12:12-31; Heb. 10:25).
