As A mother Hen Calleth her little Chicks
Text: Matt 23:37-39 1. They know theirs mother's call. John 10:27, " My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me." 2. The Distress call. a. When a dark cloud comes, mother hen calls. b. When a hawk is near, mother hen calls. c. In all time of danger, mother hen will calls. 1 Peter 5:9, " the devil as a roaring lion walketh about seeking whom he may devour." 3. The Sheltering call. A. This is a call to hide. Psa. 17:8-9,"keep me as the apple of thine eye, hide me under the shadow of thy wings... from the wicked that oppress me, from my deadly enemies, who encompass me about." Psa. 61:3, " For thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy." 4. The following Call. A. God calls those whom He has forgiven to follow Him. Matt. 4:19, " And He saith unto them, follow me, and I will make you a fisher of men." B. We are to follow Him to the green pastures. C. We are to follow Him to the Father's house. 5. The feeding call. ( Come home, Come Home, It's supper time.) 1 Peter 2:2, " As new born babes, desire the sincerd milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby. John 6:35, "And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life; he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thrist." 6. The warmth call. ( can you work, when you are cold?) A. On a cold morning you will see a mother hen gather her chicks under her wings to warm them. B. God will warm His children with His Word, His Spirit, and His Love. 7. The night call. A. At the close of the day, she will calls her chicks to the henhouse. B. At the close of our day, God will call us home.
