The Upper Room Apostolic Church started with a vision from the Lord to our founder and Pastor, Milton Harper. God gave Pastor Harper a heart for the wounded, broken christian. To bring restoration to those wounded souls is Pastors desire and driving force. God took Pastor into a forest through a vision. As he walked, all he could see was a forest of burnt trees. He asked God why He put him in a place where everything was dead, and the Lord said, "The roots are alive. Speak the word to them". As he spoke the word, the burnt trees began to be resurrected and soon the burnt forest became a thriving group of saints ready and able to take back all that the devil had stolen. We are known as the repairers of the breach, and the paths to dwell in.
In January of 1997, God moved upon Pastor Harper to find a permanent place of worship. (He also gave him a vision for the 'Eagles Nest Day Care', a Home for Unwed Mothers, a food pantry, and a larger worship center.) We acquired the loan to purchase the building after 17 months of being a new ministry. However, the Bank Manager said, that they usually do not consider lending money to a church until it has been in existence for at least 3 years. God moved in our favor, and we received the loan after being established only 17 months. That's a move of God. God's vision for the Upper Room Ministry continued in the year 2000. We have completed the first stage of the Church expansion by extending the front of the Church to give additional space to the sanctuary, the pulpit, and the choir area. Now, God has given Pastor and his wife, another phase of the vision; to extend the rear of the Church with an additional fellowship room, an area for our growing youth and teens, and also to increase the parking area. We feel that God has given the Upper Room special favor with these extensions to the Church. They will accommodate the number of souls that God is preparing to add to the Ministry.
