A Caring Community With You in Mind....
Our primary purpose for existing is to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We make that proclamation within our own congregation and community, and, by supporting the work of the Missouri Synod, to the entire world.
Our worship services center on the cross of Christ and its effect on the loves of those who have accepted Christ as their Savior. We regularly celebrate the Sacrament of the Lord's Supper.
Our Education Program seeks to nurture the growing faith of our members in a variety of classes and presentations designed to meet the needs of all age levels.
The members of Immanuel also work to express their faith in Christian service. Numerous organizations and programs offer opportunities for members to use their talents and gifts in service to God.

Serving Sellwood/Moreland Area For Over 90 Years.
Founded in 1908, by families in the Sellwood area, Immanuel Lutheran Church has thrived for over nine decades in our community. Our congregation was officially organized in August of 1908, and its early services were held in a vacant store on S.E. 11th & Umatilla St. The Reverend H.C. Ebeling accepted a call to becom the first Pastor at Immanuel and served until 1938.
Shortly following thr formation, the congregation purchased a building site on 15th and Lambert where our church stands today. The construction of the present church was completed in 1955. The adjoining Fellowship Hall was build in the late 1980's.
Immanuel has been blessed through the years with many outstanding leaders. In 1982, Pastor Sidney Johnson , a professor at Concordia College in Portland served as Vacancy Pastor. While here, Pastor Johnson accepted the call from Immanuel to assume the position of our Pastor - where he continues today as our spiritual leader.
