We are a traditional Orthodox mission. That means that we meet in a parishioner's home, we use the Divine Liturgy of St John Chrysostom, we burn a lot of incense, and we hold to the traditional teachings of the Church. What are the traditional teachings of the church? When the Pharisees asked Jesus what the greatest commandment was, He told them, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and soul and mind and strength. And the second is like it, you shall love your neighbor as yoourself." Love God, Love your neighbor. Pretty simple, isn't it? Yet that is the traditional teaching of the Church. Love God, love your neighbor.
Which brings us to the second word in our heading, Affirming. We are an afffirming parish. By that we mean that all are welcome, and all are greeted and treated with love. We try to keep out of the way of God's love being showered upon each person that comes to us. We just point the way.
Finally, we are Inclusive. Jesus said "God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that Whosoever..." Whosoever means YOU!
