New Church Fellowship Forming- All Invited!!
On Sunday evening, January 30,1999, an exciting new church will begin with an exciting, fresh concept to ministry! We will be having our inaugural service at 9449 Westport Road, Louisville, KY. (The Westport Plaza Pet Shop) This service is open to ALL denominations, all races, all creeds. We don't even ask you to be a Christian to attend. We will be having a pot luck/covered dish feast, beginning around 6:30 pm. Future services will be held every two weeks at members houses or easy to get to locations. We are excited about the events that we have planned, such as Church-wide suppers, fishing trips, community ministry efforts, etc. Join the fellowship and fun, while receiving the straightforward word of GOD. Remember- the church is not the building; the church is the people who form the body of CHRIST!
What We Teach at Simplicity Ministries Fellowship
We teach the doctrine of the Trinity, that is, GOD existing in the persons of GOD the FATHER, GOD the SON, GOD the HOLY SPIRIT. We teach that because of the fall of man into sin, that he (man) is spiritually dead and separated from the almighty, living GOD, and that eternal damnation awaits all those who choose not come alive in CHRIST. We teach that JESUS, although existing as GOD, emptied HIMSELF of HIS GODHOOD and came to this earth in the form of a man, born of a virgin, created in the image of the CREATOR. (Philippians 2:5-11, 1 Corinthians 15:45) JESUS then died on a cross as a sacrifice, once and for all, for all of our sin. We teach the fact that HE was raised from the dead 3 days later, and ascended to the right hand of the FATHER, taking HIS rightful place as part of the HOLY TRINITY once more. We teach that the HOLY SPIRIT was then sent to the earth on the day of Pentecost, in order to indwell every believer and restore the marriage of our human spirits to the SPIRIT of the living GOD, that was separated at Adam's fall. We teach the simplicity of faith and a personal relationship in JESUS; the dependence upon HIM to live HIS holy life through us, therefore perfecting us in HIS grace by the life that HE lives. (Galatians 2:20) We teach that as HIS life evidences itself through our lives (through the HOLY SPIRIT), HE draws people to HIMSELF, thus fulfilling the Great Commission.(Matthew 28:19,20) We teach that there is NO OTHER NAME but JESUS that can save; both for the abundant life that HE provides here on earth, but also for the eternal, heavenly reward that awaits us in Paradise. We teach the doctrine of the individual priesthood of the believer, and that salvation is obtained by HIS grace, and that grace alone. We teach that anything added on to this grace to obtain salvation, justification or righteousness is false doctrine, no matter what denominational tag is attached. We take our ministry motto from 2 Corinthians 11:3, "But I am afraid, lest as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, your minds should be led astray from the SIMPLICITY and purity of devotion to CHRIST."
