College Park CME Church is a connectional church in the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church. We are a new congregation that offically began on Easter Sunday morning in 1992. The Church sets in heart of the South end of College Park, Georgia. Our membership consists of persons from various faith traditions. We are a Christcentered Church that believes that Jesus Christ not only saves us, but calls us to make the Church a "schoolhouse of faith." Our ministry encompasses all ages. On Sunday mornings, we host a nursery for children from infancy to 3 years of age. Moreover, the pastor leads the children in a children meditation each Sunday morning. Ministries are provided for children and youth through the Christian Youth Fellowship. Young Adults are involved in Church School; a sitting on the porch ministry that meet Saturdays at Noon. Finally, our Church is involved in scouting, tutorial ministry, and outreach to the citizenry of the immediate community.
The following are the set of core beliefs of the Church:
1. God loves all persons and invites all to be saved through faith in God's grace in Jesus Christ.
2. The steps towards salvation are:
a)prevenient grace - Before we know the love of God, God is acting towards and with us through grace.
b)justifying grace - Once recognize our sinful state and accept Jesus Christ as our savior and Lord, God justifies us (makes us right);
c)sanctifying grace - Following our conversion, God calls us to a life of holiness (separateness) wherein the Holy Spirit works in us a life that is becoming each day more godly and surrendered to God's will;
3. God calls each of us to a life of Christian Perfection wherein we strive, with the help of Almighty God, to love God and neighbor with our total being.
4. There is only one condition required for one who desire membership in the Church - to flee from the wrath (judgment) of Almighty God.
5. Persons who unite with the College Park CME Church are expected to uphold the Church through prayer, being presence in worship, using one's gift in service to the Church and the community, and through tithing in the Body of Christ.
