I want my Church to be a place
Where I can meet God face to face
And meditate upon His grace.
I want each worship hour so sweet,
That I can think each time we meet
A presence comes and takes His seat
I want Her doors to stand so wide.
No hungry souls who waits outside
Will think that He has been denied
I want my Church to be much more
Than stone and timber, pew and doors,
old carpet laid upon a floor.
But, Oh, I know that it can be
No more than that is found in me.
So teach me, Lord, to show forth thee.
