A Contemplative Benedictine Community of monks founded in 1996 and dedicated to the Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary and with whom, they sit at the foot of the Cross of Christ supplicating for the World, through a life of prayer, work and study in the framework of the Rule of Saint Benedict. The Community leads a monastic life without any outside ministry. The celebration of the Liturgy, is of central importance. Following the Morning and Evening Offices silent mental prayer is nourished by the Biblical texts heard during the liturgical celebrations is shared in common. Lectio Divina is emphasised in the daily horarium.
Later in the year 2000, the monks will be making a foundation in the United Kingdom and hopefully add to the rich monastic history and tradition that already exists in Great Britain.
