A kinder and gentler Church than the national synods, we are an "Evangelical Catholic" church in the Lutheran family of Churches. We affirm the Holy bible as verbally inspired, inerrant and infallible. We accept the Apostle's, Nicene and Athanasian Creeds. As Lutherans, we accept the Unaltered Augsburg Confession and the Book of Concord (1580) because they are trustworthy witnesses to the Gospel. Unlike other Lutherans, we recognize two sacraments (Baptism and Holy Communion) and five Sacramental Rites (Confirmation, Confession/Penance, Marriage, Unction and Holy Orders. These are rites instituted by Christ and commended by Him to His Church, which impart an inward and spiritual grace, but which have no outward or visible sign). Our worship is liturgical, centered on the altar. More "high-church" than most other Lutherans, we worship, praise and honor God with all the richness, emotion and glory of the historic liturgy of the great Latin Church of the West with all its marvelous ceremonial. Although congregational in polity at this time, we recognize and respect the Historic Apostolic Succession as beneficial for the Church (of the bene esse of the Church).
SOLA GRATIA: BY GRACE ALONE: We believe, teach and confess that God is Live and continually acts to draw all humanity to Himself. God has never left Himself without witnesses among any people at any time, Still, all humanity is forever and irrevocably lost apart from the saving grace of God available to all through the sacrifice on the cross of His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ for the sins of the whole world.
SOLA FIDE: BY FAITH ALONE: We believe, teach and confess that we are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. This saving faity is not the result of our good works, diligent prayer or of a personal decision to "accept" Christ, but is actually a free and unsolicited gift from God.
SOLA SCRIPTURA: BY SCRIPTURE ALONE: We believe, teach and confess that God has revealed Himself through the ages in His Holy Scriptures as well as through His Son, Jesus Christ. We loudly proclaim that the historical Jesus is fully revealed (along with everything else necessary for our salvation) in God's Word: the books of the Old and New Testaments, which are verbally inspired, literally true, factually and scientifically inerrant, and completely infallible in their original languages since God Himself is their actual author.
