Welcome to the Parish of Perth and Drummond
The Parish of Perth and Drummond is a two point Parish. St James located in Perth was established in 1819 by Royal Warrant. St Augustines a small church on the second line of drummond celebrates its 100th anniversary this year. We are a growing Anglican community with emphasis on worship Christian Education and Outreach
Music plays a large part in our worship. Currently we have three choirs, Liturgical, Gallery and children's. This year we hope to add a folk choir.
We are strong supporters of the ALPHA programme as a means of evangelism and are currently running our seventh Alpha Course. In September 1998 we will sart our first Youth Alpha Course.
Meet our Rector
George Bruce, our rector came to us two years ago from the parish of Winchester. George entered ministry late in life after a lengthy military career. George is liturgically liberal and theologically conservative. He is an active Cursillista and encourages Cursillo in the Parish. He also believes the parish is being called to healing ministry. He is married to theo and has five children, fourcats and a dog.
