Please send us email to fdind out more information about our church. Everyone is always welcome. We are a church that specializes in loving you!!On January 21, 1979, God sent to us Rev. Ocie L. Burton. After several months of observation, Rev. Burton called the church together and asked the church's auxiliaries to centralize their treasures, adopt a budget to tithe and give liberally. These things were done and God continued to bless Mt. Hebron. Constantly preaching and teaching God's word the church continued to grow spiritually and financially. He began to organize and reorganize the auxiliaries of the church for the upbuilding of God's Kingdom.
The Number Three Choirs was reorganized and out of this group we were blessed with the Young People and O.L. Burton Choirs.
In 1980, the Nurses Guild was organized. In 1982, the first laywoman superintendent was appointed and the Pastor's Aid Society was organized. In 1983, the Young Men's class was renamed in honor of our former superintendent, Bro. David L. Jones. In 1984, it became necessary to organize a Cradle Roll class and a benevolance committee. In 1985, the Young Matron's Circle was organized. He also revitalized the NBC. The church purchased a bus for a bus ministry. A few years later a church van was purchased.
In 1987 an educational building was built and more property was purchased in 1992. By the way, in 1988 a newsletter was started to keep our members and friends informed of vital information adn what was going on in the church. A tape ministry was later organized as an outreached ministry for our sick and shut-in. A caring and sharing ministry called the Triibe program was started several years ago, out of which has given birth to a vital Bible Study Class that meets each Monday night at 6:00 .p.m. which is alive and well.
In 1994, Sis. Missouri Yarbrough was appointed chariperson of the Trustee Board. Renovation of the church's rear parking lot was done and mass property was purchased which presently houses the Junior Department of our Sunday School. The Cater property was purchased, renovated and used as rental poerty.
In 1996 a beauitful lighted sign was installed in the front lawn. In 1997 the Pruitt property was purchased and the breezeway from the church to the Junior Department has been competed.
In Spring of 1998, Minister of Music Rev. Eric Wilson was sent to our church. His skills and blessed talent have been an attribute to our church. From this blessing the Voices of Praises Music Ministry Choir has been created.
During his 19 years service here, eleven deacons were ordained. Two deacons previously served reunited with the church and reinstated. Four deacons from other churches were set aside to serve. Many souls have been saved and others reunited with Christ by the preaching and teaching of God's Word.
