Hello, friend! I would like to welcome you to our site. The Baptist Student Ministries on the Trinity Valley Community College campus is an organization devoted to the spreading of the gospel of Jesus Christ to the lost students of the college. The PURPOSE of the BSM: To make students into disciples of Jesus. The PLAN of the BSM: To make students into disciples of Jesus through student-led MINISTRY TEAMS. The VISION of the BSM: To impact TVCC and the world through student leaders who are growing as desciples of Jesus and are helping other students to become and grow as disciples of Jesus. The GOAL of BSM: To train the student team leaders to grow as disciples of Jesus and to assist them in developing an ongoing Ministry Team to accomplish their ministry assignment during fall and spring semesters. Ephesians 4:11-16 states: It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of men in their deceitful scheming. Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into him who is the Head, this is, Christ. From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work. A few words from the President
Hello, My name is Joel Herrington. I am the BSM president on the TVCC campus. I would like to tell you alittle bit about some of our ministries on campus and some upcoming events during the fall semester. During the summer we are going to a student conference called Focus '98. It we be held at the Antole Hotel in Dallas, Texas. It is good for Christian students who are entering the college environment for the first time to get rooted with a fresh outlook on the college years ahead. If you are interested please contact us at the BSM. At the BSM we have many different ministries such as: Luncheons-Free food served with a spiritual message every Tuesday and Thursday at 12:30pm. Bible Studies-Student lead campus bible studies for Christian growth and understanding. Children's Ministry-a time for fun and learning for the children in our local community. Coffee House-a cool place to hang out on Thursday nights for students on campus. Discipleship Groups-Groups devoted to helping new Christians grow in Christ. Socials-Trips, Fun Stuff and Fellowships! Prayer-Student coordinating for prayer groups and specific prayer topics. Outreach teams-student groups dedicated to reaching out to students on campus. Missions/World Hunger fund raising-raising money for student missionaries and feeding children across the globe. I highly recommend getting involved in the BSM. Nothing is as much fun and exciting as seeing your friends and fellow students come to know Jesus as personal Lord and Savior. The BSM is a great place to make life-long friends and just chill.
