Statement of Purpose.
The purpose of St.Andrew's (Woodhaven)Anglican Church,is to grow together as a family and community;to worship God in the rich tradition of our Anglican heritage,as expressed in the Book of Common Prayer.We strive to be supportive and encouraging to the needs of all Parish Members, and to show forth Christ's presence and Love in our community. Our Church is located on the Trans-Canada Highway,in a typicalCanadian suburban community. Our congregation is made up of individuals and families representing many diverse age and ethnic groups and social and economic backgrounds.
Outreach Ministry.
The people of St.Andrews are actively engaged in Christian service in and outside the City of Winnipeg.Among these activities are support for Rossbrook House which serves needy families and children in the inner city. We help fund a local food bank and an inner city soup kitchen.We have recently established a companion link with a northern native community and church where we are assisting them with a church building project. Within the parish we have an active "over 60's"club, as well as a hard working Anglican Church Women's group and a very lively Mens Club. Parking is available immediately adjacent to the Church with additional space open on the Courts of St.James Mall lot on the opposite side of Portage Avenue. Visitors are always welcome.
