Our History & Heritage

Pastors Mike & Brenda Herron founded Sheep Shed Church in 1973 when God spoke to their hearts that the Body of Christ was destroyed for a lack of knowledge. Jesus said in John 21 to "Feed Sheep". The church began in their living room quickly growing to 90 people which then moved to their renovated barn. Two years later they were able to purchase a modern school building and build a beautiful auditorium which houses the ministry today. In 2001, the name of the church was officially changed to New Covenant Church embracing all the promises of the Covenant made available through Jesus Christ.
Bro. Mike & Brenda raised four children who are married and on the Church staff, all having the same heart and Vision. They have nine grandchildren. Our Goal is to equip God's people spiritually that they may overcome life's obstacles; and as our Church body hears the Word of God being proclaimed, the five fold ministry will be established: Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors, and Teachers. As these ministries are equipped and become mature, they have been and will be sent out from our church to establish and continue the work of the ministry in other cities, states, and nations.

Our Beliefs, Vision & Hope!

Teaching God's Word is the primary goal of all activities at New Covenant Church. Through teaching the Word, God's people from toddler's to senior citizens, learn to apply biblical principles to daily choices.
We are commited to reaching people with the Full Gospel and touching their lives on a daily basis through our television broadcast, "Windows of Heaven".
We are also publishing books, the first being entitled, "All the Flowers of Tomorrow are in the Seeds of Today" and is a "Must Read" for all those who have ever been tempted to give up and quit! "Black is Beautiful" has been greatly used to set people free of racial prejudice.

Our Beliefs

We believe in one God, revealed as Father, Son and Holy Spirit. It is our belief that the scriptures are the inspired Word of God, given by the Holy Spirit without error and that the Bible is the final authority for all Christian faith and life.
We believe in progressive revelaton of the scriptures. Just as great saints of old expanded our knowledge and concepts, so even now there is greater revelation yet to be revealed. We believe for the eyes of our understanding be continually opened to the knowledge of Him.
We believe that Jesus Christ is true God and true man, conceived of a virgin. He lived a sinless life, died an atoning death for the sins of the World and resurrected bodily for our justification; and now reigns in glory making intercession for us as our High Priest and Advocate.
We believe that the identity of the Body of Christ on Earth is primarily perceived through the local church. We also believe in the priesthood of the believer and the literal use of the terms of 'praise' and 'worship' which we use in our service.
We believe that man is made in the image of God and may obtain salvation because of the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus. We believe that salvation is a free gift because Jesus paid the price for it. We believe in water baptism by immersion as an act of obedience and as a statement of our death to our life of sin and resurrection to a new life in Jesus.
We believe that the ordinances of the Lord's supper and baptism are to be observed by the church during the present age. We believe in the Baptism of the Holy Spirit and that there will be evidence of this baptism in the form of a new power, language and evangelistic outpouring in a person's life.
We believe in the literal coming of our Lord, the literal rule of Christ upon the Earth and the literal resurrection of the saints. We encourage the developement of the charismatic gifts under the guidance of the church authority and that the callings of apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor and teacher are funtional within the Lord's return.
We are a multi-ethnic, multi-racial, multi-cultural church. We believe as on the Day of Pentecost -Acts 2- all Nations and backgrounds were being filled with the Holy Ghost that it should be so today. We stand in agreement with -Acts 17:26- That God hath made us of one blood, all Nations and peoples, that together we are the Called out ones to Seek Him together. We are striving by the Spirit to call all generations to replenish the Earth with Godly seed. We proclaim the risen Christ who brings by His precious blood Salvation to all who will call upon Him.
