Episcopal Missionary Church

DEFENDING THE HISTORIC FAITH Episcopalians disturbed by the increasing liberalism and secularism of the Anglican faith are moving to defend the Historic Faith and tenets of the true Anglican Tradition. Traditionalist Episcopalians can rejoice that our Christian witness now can take place based on Holy Scripture, the Creeds, Tradition, and Apostolic Order. At last we can worship One, True, Living God without fear of trepidation; acknowledging that we are sinners, and rejoicing that we are redeemed by the saving Incarnation, Death, and Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ. Together, we find this ministry in the Episcopal Missionary Church. The Episcopal Missionary Church started its life of worship and mission in the historic Anglican Tradition in November 1992. At that time The Episcopal Missionary Church severed ties with The Episcopal Church In The USA because it refused to make provisions for Traditionalist Episcopalians. We go forward, nationally and internationally. Bishop A. Donald Davies, former Episcopal Bishop of Dallas, Fort Worth, and the American Churches in Europe. Bishop Davies is the Presiding Bishop. Bishop Davies serves Holy Trinity as our Bishop. EMC is committed to the tenets of the 1889 Lambeth Quadrilateral Agreement. EMC Bishops strongly affirm: Ý The Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments as "containing all things necessary to salvation," and as being the rule and ultimate standard of faith. Ý The Apostles' Creed as the Baptismal Symbol, and the Nicene Creed as the sufficient statement of the Christian Faith. Ý The two Sacraments ordained by Christ Himself - Baptism and the Supper of the Lord ministered with unfailing use of Christ's words of Institution and of the elements ordained by Him. Ý The Historic Episcopate, serving the varying needs of the nations and peoples called into the Unity of His Church. EMC defends the faith and Tradition of the ancient Church delivered to us throughout the ages by the Saints and Fathers since our Lord's day. EMC worships using the 1928 Book Of Common Prayer as the only normative book of common worship, and a direct descendant of the historic Anglican witness. EMC IS EPISCOPAL -- it acknowledges the oversight of Bishops, successors of the Apostles, as essential to Anglicanism. EMC IS MISSIONARY -- because Our Lord has called us to declare His name as the only name by which salvation comes. EMC IS CHURCH -- founded by Our Lord to be the instrument of our salvation; One Church, One Faith, One Lord.

Holy Trinity Mission Statement

We, the members of Holy Trinity Parish, recognize that we have been most richly blessed. Jesus Christ took human form that we might better know God; He sacri-ficed His life that we might have life eternal. We live in a land of unparalleled lib-erty where we are free to worship according to the traditional Anglican rite. We live in a land of plenty where material want is relatively rare. It is our privilege to know the comfort of Christian fellowship and the joy of corporate worship as we come together before the presence of our Lord.

As God's people, we believe that God revealed Himself in His Holy Scripture. We accept our historic Orthodox Tradition, and we worship using the 1928 Book of Common Prayer. We thereby preserve and continue the Anglican tradition, and we do so as self-conscious custodians of this venerable religious custom. We believe the traditional seven Sacraments are means of God's Grace given to His people. We also understand that Christ hath ordained only two Sacraments in His Church as generally necessary to salvation: that is to say, Baptism and the Supper of our Lord. We also understand the fourfold Apostolic Ministry to be as God revealed it in His Holy Scripture and Tradition, these Holy Orders being: Bishop, Priest, Deacon, and Laity. The Office of Bishop is chief pastor, prophet, and symbol of godliness. The Office of Priest is to celebrate the Sacraments, bless God's people, and forgive the penitent. The Office of Deacon is to proclaim God's Word, visit God's people, and bring Christ's healing power to the sick and lonely. The Office of Laity is to proclaim God's Word to all people by deed and by example, thereby converting them to faith in Jesus Christ as the only means of salvation. In the knowledge of God's promise: when two or three are gathered together in my name I will grant their requests, we bind ourselves to one another as Holy Trinity Parish to offer thanks and praise unto almighty God and to study His Word that we might better know Him and better understand His will. We are to be im-plements of His mercy, comforting one another and making each other strong in His service. May we, being moved by compassion and directed by right reason, feed His sheep and offer ourselves and our riches to those less fortunate. May we, in all faithfulness, be bold to proclaim the Word to the churched and unchurched alike. In all things, may we bring honor and glory, not to ourselves, but to God almighty, Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
