A CHURCH THAT'S BEEN GIVEN BACK TO THE LORD
The Unity Progressive Memorial C.O.G.I.C. was founded by the late Elder Charles W.
Scott Sr. in 1996 after serving as pastor of another C.O.G.I.C. for 18 faithful years. He
and the present pastor are sons of the Maryland C.O.G.I.C., where they were blessed
to be spiritually fathered by the late Bishop Theodore R. Young. After Elder Scott was
peacefully called home to be with the Lord, the church yet carries on with the rich
heirtage they both received from Bishop Young. Each service is, by prayer and scripture
reading, dedicated "back to the Lord", as Hanah prayed, "give me a son, and I'll give him
back to you." So we open the doors of the church and our hearts for His inhabitation and
use. Pray for us as we endeavor to "stand in the gap" for those who can't and won't pray
for themselves. With the contributions of our church supervisor Mother Lillian Scott, our
ministerial staff and the UPM family, we are looking forward to doing our share in tearing
