The Episcopal Church in Southwest Florida
Saint Mary's Parish is an Episcopal Church and School in Southwest Florida. As part of the Diocese of Southwest Florida, it belongs to the Tampa Deanery(one of 7 sub regions) and is led by The Rt. Reverend John Lipscomb,the Fourth Bishop of Southwest Florida. Saint Mary's was established in Tampa 50 years ago by Father Warren Densmore with the expressed mission of having a church with a day school committed to forming children (K-8) in accord with the Christian values expressed in the Anglcian tradition. To date the Parish has a 500 members in the church community and and a school community of 425 students with a faculty and staff of 42. The Parish itself sits on a 10 acre site in South Tampa at the intersections of San Miguel, Hubert and Henderson. St. Mary's is committed to living out its mission statement: TO KNOW CHRIST AND MAKE HIM KNOWN. This is done we pray through the various ministries that are part of the the church and school.
