SBC was started 10 years ago by Pastor Steve Grubbs in the banquet room of the Holiday Inn. Today its membership is around 200 people. SBC is an independent Baptist church, not associated with the Southern Baptist Convention or any other convention. SBC independently supports 52 world missions projects on a monthly basis. SBC is a family-oriented church. They have Sunday School classes for each age group, and in the fall of 1998 will be starting a christian school for those who are members of the church. SBC reaches out to her community with the Gospel going door-to-door through visitation and soul-winning. They believe the Great Commission begins in Cleveland. SBC takes a firm stand on the Bible being the Word of God and use only the King James Version, believing it to be God's preserved Word for the English speaking people. SBC does not embrace modernism and worldliness as is evidenced by a majority of churches across America. They believe that the Christian ought to be separate from the world. Every visitor is a welcome guest at SBC.
Have you ever trusted Jesus Christ as your personal Savior?
1. You must realize God loved you enought to send Jesus Christ to be your Savior. John 3:16, "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
2. You must realize that you are a sinner. Romans 3:23 says, "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God."
3. You must realize that because of your sinful condition, you deserve to die and spend eternity apart from God in Hell. Romans 6:23 says, "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."
4. You must realize that Jesus Christ paid the penalty for your sin when He died on the Cross and offered you eternal life through His sacrifice. Romans 5:8, "But God commendeth His love toward us in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."
5. You must realize that you personally must pray, repenting of your sin and trusting Christ as your Savior. Romans 10:9, That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved."
If you want to trust Christ as Savior and accept His free gift of salvation, pray this and mean it from your heart: Lord Jesus, I realize I am a sinner and deserve to die and go to Hell because of all that I have done. I realize that You died on the Cross for me so that I would not have to die and go to Hell. I am trusting you by faith to be my Savior. I am repenting of my sin, and I want to live for you and serve you with my life. In Jesus' name. Amen.
If you prayed that prayer, please let us know by sending mail to jgrubbs@webtv.com or writing us at Shenandoah Baptist Church P.O. Box 5207 Cleveland, Tennessee 37320-5207. We will be glad to try and help you all that we can in your new life with the Lord.
