Bible Studies and Fellowship

We have several weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly Bible studies and/or fellowship meetings:
Two American Baptist Women's groups, Promise Keepers, Friday morning Men's Prayer Breakfast, a Senior Adult group, and two Youth Groups - - - Junior/Senior high school and 4th thru 6th graders

Our Promise Keepers group was formed in early 1996 and today is composed of about 25 men, ranging in age from 19 to 72, whose Christian journey spans as little as 2 to more than 60 years. The group has embarked upon a study of the Book of James. We are using one of the "Spirit-Filled Life Bible Discovery Guides" called "Passing Faith's Tests with Love & Joy". In addition, we're including some good background info from William Barkley and a number of resources off the net, such as, the Blue Letter Bible (w/commentaries)and David Guzik's Study Guide for James. While James is not considered one the the 'feel good' epistles, it's definately a great reminder of how our Lord wants us to live our lives. We're going to enjoy the next few weeks!

Again, the PK mens group meets on Thursdays at 7PM.

Youth Group Activities: Our youth director has been very busy.

The young people are preparing for camp this summer at Thousand Pines. (They are already getting excited!) They are holding car washes and other activities to raise their share of the camp funds. Pat continues to encourage the youth to view the church as an extension of their homes and the other kids as their brothers and sisters. Therefore, all funds raised always goes into a single pot - to be used by the group. The youth have responded to this idea as though it is the natural thing to do. **The Lords work is especially fun when there are children involved!**

Summer Vacation Bible School planning is well under way.

The ladies have recently begun a Monday night fellowship and bible study.

YOU are invited to come and fellowship at the home of Carol Smith monday evenings between 7PM & 9PM. This is an informal time of friendship, sharing, support, and study of Gods Word. Carols address is 629 W. Maime. Phone 384-1170 to answer your questions or get directions.
