A note from the Pastor

Our passion at First Christian Church is worshipping God. We believe that ministry is a by-product of a close and intimate relationship with Jesus Christ.

Our desire is to find out what God is doing and then actively joining Him in His work. The church exists to: (1) To invite people into a relationship with Jesus Christ. (2) To help those who have trusted in Christ to grow to maturity in their faith. (3) To enable Christians to fulfill the great commission (see Matt. 28:18-20) by making committed followers of Jesus Christ. We are currently praying that God would give us a great problem--tons of children and youth. We hope that FCC becomes an exciting haven for young people. Unfortunately, many young people believe that Christianity is irrelevant and boring. We believe it is our job to destroy this false image of real Christianity through vital relationships and teaching that demonstrates the relevance of Christ to today's young people. We believe that humanity's greatest need is Jesus Christ. We come to know God by His self-revelation by the Holy Spirit through the Holy Scriptures. God changes us as we encounter Him through the Bible as we are involved in caring community. Understanding God's Word (the Bible) is a priority at FCC in our Worship Services, Bible Studies and Youth Programs. The Scriptures address the core concerns that touch all of our lives. FCC Vision, Mission, & Purpose Statements

Vision Statement: FCC seeks to glorify God by delighting in His holy name. Mission Statement: Getting the gospel "into" hearts and "out to" the ends of the earth. Purpose Statement: We purpose to be a community of Jesus Christ that resolves to follow God's Kingdom-Agenda that is singularly focused on getting the gospel from Bay City to the ends of the earth. We hope to implement this by focusing on the basics: 1. Pulsating Worship (Deuteronomy 6:5; Psalm 29:2; 37:4; 96:9; 100:2; Matthew 22:36-38; Luke 4:8; Romans 12:1; Revelation 4-5). 2. Vibrant Discipleship (Galatians 4:19; 2 Timothy 2:2, & Hebrews 10:24-25). 3. Deliberate Evangelism (Matthew 28:18-20; John 20:21; & Acts 1:8) We feel that God is calling us to have a special focus in reaching out to the unchurched (the needy, young families, and children & youth). Also, we desire to build up the body so that God can fulfill His purposes through us.
