History and Invitation
The Lighthouse Evangelical Methodist Church was founded in 1982 on the grounds of the historic Browns Primitive Baptist Church, circa 1802. Since it's inception, the Church has seen steady growth. Our congregation is composed of a rich mixture of young and old, with a majority of our membership in the 35-50 year old age group. We enjoy fellowship with each other and it has been said, "We will use any opportunity to eat!" We really are a country Church with a "down home" feel. We invite you, if you are searching for a Church home, to come experience God with us.
Mission Statement and Directions
The Mission of The Lighthouse Evangelical Methodist Church is to worship almighty God, to care for others, as a reflection of our love for Him, to teach the Holy Bible, to bring others to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ, to fellowship in a loving and caring environment, and in everything, to "Lift up Jesus Christ." (Jn. 12:32)
Lexington is located approximately 20 miles east/south east of Athens, GA. on Highway 78. From Lexington, take Highway 77 North, approximately 2 miles. The Church is located on the western side of the highway and sits about 200 yards from the sign.
