Vision Statement
The Lord has called Cornerstone Church in Houston, MS to bring together the Body of Christ in our community. He has given us the call to reach out to different ethnic groups and try to show them the love of God and our acceptance. We desire to minister to hurting ministers and restore those in ministry that have failed or burned out. We are to restore those who have fallen and love them back into the call upon their lives. The calling of God is without repentance. God has one body, with many members. All who profess the name of Jesus and believe upon him, are a part of the body of Christ. When we are saved, we are baptized into the body of Christ. We are all members of the same body, even if we are of different denominations. We must have a vision for the entire body of Christ, and not just our own church.
Up-Coming Events...
Praise the Lord! We have been in revival since October 18, 1998. Every Sunday & Monday night, we have been holding special revival services, where Evangelist JL Verrell of Blue Springs, MS, has been preaching and ministering under the anointing of God. Since then, there have been 26 people born again, 8 re-committments, 8 Baptized in the Holy Spirit, and a host baptized in water. We are so blessed to see people being born into the Kingdom of God. During the month of January, 1999, we will be canceling the Monday night services. We are continuing the Sunday night services as normal. This all started with a special service for the Chickasaw County prisoners. We prepared Thanksgiving dinner for them and their families, and they were allowed to attend the services. That night ten were saved, one being one of the debuties. Ever since then, the Lord has went far beyond our expectations. The prisoners continue to attend on Sunday & Wednesday nights. We have seen big changes in their lives. Please pray for us as we continue to serve the Lord and the people of Housotn, MS. Lunch served Thursday, Friday & Saturday at NO COST.
