Who and What We Are

We are a congregation of Christians, serving you and continuing the work which Christ came to accomplish, i.e., "to seek and to save that which was lost." This is accomplished through preaching, believing, and obeying the Gospel of Christ. We meet for Christian Worship each Lord's Day (Sunday) to observe the Lord's Supper as was customary with the early church (Acts 20:7), to preach and study the Word of God,to unite in prayer, and to share in the responsibility (fellowship) of the ongoing Work of Christ as taught in Acts 2:42. We seek to bear out the Christian message in daily life. We believe it is possible to be simply a Christian, unencumbered by the doctrines or devices of men (John 14:6). We are a free church - completely self governing in accordance with Scriptural example. There is no ecclesiastical hierarchy to which we are responsible. The only ties which bind us to any other group of people are ties of fellowship in faith. We have a growing Sunday School, with dedicated and able teachers. It is essential that we study God's Word. It is vital to teach it to our children so they will have a firm foundation to stand on against Satan and the world. ABOUT MEMBERSHIP: That which qualifies a person to be a Christian by the standard preserved in the New Testament also qualifies that same person to be a member of this congregation. We can require nothing more nor nothing less than is already required by God. The New Testament teaches that to be a Christian one must: (1) Believe in Jesus Christ as God's Son, Acts 16:31; (2) Repent of one's sins, Luke 13:3; (3) Confess one's faith in Christ, Romans 10:9; (4) Be baptized into Christ, Acts 2:38, Romans 6:1-6, Galatians 3:27; (5) Remain faithful to the Lord Jesus Christ, Revelation 2:10; (6) Assemble regularly with the saints, Hebrews 10:25; (7) Contribute liberally as the Lord has provided, I Corinthians 16:2; and (8) Support as well as submit to the elders as the Christ-delegated authority in His church, I Corinthians 16:16, Hebrews 13:17.
